Reason was a pioneer when if first dropped but it gets slept on because it fell behind in terms of sequencing and midi editing about 10 years ago. But it’s always been an incredibly deep program and they are making up for lost time. The fact they made their own DAW a VST for other DAWs as well as still being a fully functional DAW (they implemented SSL emulation back in 2010!) is mind blowing. Their synths and effects have always been super powerful and stunningly CPU friendly. The VALUE of Reason remains incredible. A one stop shop for all your sonic needs.
As someone who has very little knowledge in making music the only thing I understand from this is that I have more to understand:)

You dont need to understand how it all works just load up preset sounds in devices and draw or play some notes.
I've been using reason for almost 15 years and I still learn something new about it every day because of videos like these
holy crap, what a voice. total broadcast quality. news organizations are looking for you!
That vinyl crackle sound design was brilliant !
I think i had a stroke trying to read this title lmao
I really appreciate this video! Needed this!
Your voice, omg your voice. It's godlike!
haven't even watched the video yet, just wanna say thank you for the consistently high quality content :3c
this is crazy-good shizz here, man!! very helpful, super-clear & succinct... loads & loads of great avenues of inspiration here. a thousand boatloads of thanks to you for this. bravo, sir!!
That's a neat collection of quick tips to experiment with, thanks for pointing them out!
This was an excellent tutorial! I enjoy your creativity and overall knowledge of sound design! Thank you. I subscribed and All that good stuff! Peace
Good stuff. DEEEEP use of reason features, not just your typical surface level tweaks.
Thanks for this and really great sounds!
Yay! More reason tips and tricks
Awesome! I have been using Reason for years (had classes in College using Reason) and not many people know/use it, so great to see some content on it!
Thanks a lot. Simply inspiring
Exxelent pace..... exxelent content here Many thanks
Being a novice/hobbyist, there's plenty I don't know, lol. Acquiring Reason 11 has "taught" me that, apparently, "too much" compression is not a "thing"..? Each track has a compressor, there's another compressor AND a limiter in the master channel algorithms, and then after all that, engaging the master compressor still makes everything sound slightly better. I can't tell you how astonishing that seems to me, lol. But it works. It even makes ME sound sort of good, and I probably don't have half the technical talent on instruments that Sid Vicious had. Wish I had the free time to delve into the deep features. In my experience, trying something on the order of what I've just seen here typically results in no sound, or results in a synth drone that can't be stopped any other way than by deleting the track.
nice, thanks a lot!
I had writers block for a D&B track... got me back in the saddle. Thanks Man. Thumbs up and subscribed.

That’s music! Especially in Reason too with how all the devices can work together.
Future video recommendation please :) complex-1 LOW PASS GATE LPG filters and routing. Also, just wanted to say you do a really good job using reason. You got good at Reason fast! That's amazing. Love the workflow taking use of all the effects and devices. And then using them in creative ways.
You make me reconsider Reason
damn bruh good timing
europa my fav
Decided to buy Reason 11, the intermediate version. One thing making it worth the money was I discovered they have their own built-in "Melodyne"... and it ACTUALLY WORKS. 😳 *I'm comin to join yuh, Elizabeth!!... *😱😃
@dandecent

what is this built in melodyne in reason you speak of ?
@ardan981
3 жыл бұрын
@@dandecent you can use pitch edit on audio if it's set to vocal stretch & transpose mode, which is kind of like melodyne. It only really works with vocals though, since just about anything else doesn't respond well to the formant shifting from the vocal mode. Still really good, though

@@ardan981 oh yes, thanks. I've used this in reason a lot with vocals, can be very good for a quick fix
I know logic pro pretty well, but I don’t have a mac anymore. How is the transition going to be? I don’t know what windows daw to buy?
Hey buddy, nice video. But how about running a low cut on your talk mic around 100ish. Your mic is super bassy. But sweet video though. Thanks for posting this.
Hey!!!! Can you please do a detailed tutorial on creating that vinyl crackle…please 🙏🏾
I love Reason and currently have Reason 10. This video intimidates the S#it out of me!
I have reason 11. But what everyone misses out to either explain r show is how to make your own sound.. like you said, combinators are awesome.. but what is awesome can get even more awesome.. in the beginning. I did not dare to touch any of the settings right. I was 17.. but now a days I always make a backup and then, try Everyting.. I mean even destroying those original sound. You should do a clip of testing boundaries of the combinator or even europa!!
Thanks for the content. Hey. Where is your video on sound design for trap producers using phaseplant? Two things, please re upload and make another one using reason devices! 🙏
A guide on how to make FM effects/one shots in the vein of Flume (or just FM in general) would be greatly appreciated!

Reason has made tutorials on FM effects.
Hey man I'd love to see a video about sound design tips in Cubase, especially as stuff like routing/setting up LFOs is a bit more complicated than in software like Ableton
👊🏾
What is your mic and converter ?
Hi Venus, cool video! Can you tell me how you record the audio for video in Reason? I can't seem to figure it out.. Thanks in advance!

Hey! If you're referring to recording for a KZread tutorial or something, I use OBS and the ASIO plugin to record my DAW audio.

@@VenusTheory , thanks for responding! You use Asio4All to record?
There's nothing like Reason for a quick and inspiring sound design workflow. That Rack is a sound designers and song writers dream

Suite is definitely worth the upgrade price from Standard. Complex-1 is a dream.
apparently they have a new combinator being added with the R12 release on september 1st
I understand some of the words.
Is this your real voice or are you using some sort of vocoder or pitch modulation? Your voice doesn't match what you look like. Great vid but that voice is smooth.
Can you use this software with the mpc one

Not sure offhand but you might ask Reason Studios support or check their forums!
love the vids - but please make them at half speed... I play your vids at half speed and even then it's too fast to follow easily. Otherwise, the content is golden!

Your problem is with the Windows audio program. On My Acer it came with sound enhancement software. You want to check anything like that and turn it off.

IN MY REASON 11 THE ID8 IS LOCKED TO ALL THE PLAYERS MAKING ALL OF THEM USELESS . IF I TRY TO DELETE JUST THE ID8 IT DELETES THE ID8 AND THE PLAYER .
"Europa is one of the coolest synths out there". My white face Arp Odyssey is giving me dirty looks from the corner of the room...

In fairness though, an Odyssey versus Europa is pretty apples and oranges.

You need to turn your voice level down vs the audio that we're supposed to be focused on. And with headphones it's distractingly bassy
I love what you're doing, but you're moving to fast for me to keep up and you're going over my head.
