This lecture rounds out our treatment of Italy by looking at painting late in the century with the final Carracci pupils dominating the official academy in Rome and the continued separation between the two approaches of classical and baroque even as the century draws to a close with the art of Pietro da Cortona, Andrea Sacchi, Carlo Maratta, and il Baciccio.
