Avoiding certain foods like packaged juice, Oreos, flavored ice cream, imitation cheese, Cool Whip, margarine, grated Parmesan, flavored maple syrup, imitation vanilla, imitation crab, and nut milk can be beneficial for several reasons:
Nutritional Value: Many of these fake foods lack essential nutrients and are often high in unhealthy fats, sugars, and artificial additives, which can be detrimental to your health.
Empty Calories: Packaged juices, flavored ice cream, and flavored maple syrup often contain a high amount of added sugars, providing empty calories without any significant nutritional benefit.
Artificial Ingredients: Fake foods like imitation cheese, Cool Whip, and margarine often contain artificial flavors, colors, and preservatives, which may have adverse effects on health in the long term.
Processed Ingredients: These foods are heavily processed and may contain unhealthy trans fats, high fructose corn syrup, and other processed ingredients linked to various health issues like obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.
Imitation Flavors: Imitation vanilla and imitation crab are made with artificial flavorings that lack the depth and complexity of natural flavors, providing a less satisfying culinary experience.
Quality Concerns: Nut milks, while popular as dairy alternatives, often lack the same nutritional value as real milk and may contain added sugars, thickeners, and other additives to improve taste and texture.
Environmental Impact: Many fake foods, particularly those made with highly processed ingredients, contribute to environmental issues through unsustainable farming practices, excessive packaging, and energy-intensive manufacturing processes.
Supporting Real Food: By avoiding fake foods and opting for whole, unprocessed alternatives, you support local farmers and sustainable agriculture practices, promoting a healthier food system for both people and the planet.
Healthier Alternatives: Instead of fake foods like margarine and imitation cheese, you can choose healthier alternatives like olive oil and real cheese made from quality ingredients for better taste and nutritional value.
Transparency: Real foods are often more transparent in terms of their ingredients and production methods, allowing you to make more informed choices about what you're putting into your body.
Overall Well-being: By prioritizing real, whole foods over fake, processed alternatives, you can improve your overall health, energy levels, and well-being in the long run.

My husband worked for International Paper many, many years. Trucks would come and take away the liquid scum slush, he asked the driver where do you take that? The driver said, "to a margarine factory, they put it in margarine that is sold in the grocers." Needless to say we quit margarine and thus began our 'natural/real' food schooling. Fascinating thesis! As an aside: I was a paralegal before I retired. Lawyers are VERY fussy about language. In law ultra-processed "foods" are NOT called food. They don't qualify under the legal definition. Lawyers call the fake foods on supermarket shelves are called "manufactured consumables."

I once read this comment. Did you ever notice that they put artificial lemon flavoring in our food, but real lemon in our dish detergent? Seems to me that somewhere along the line someone got really confused or they just didn't care. Personally I think that it's the second one. That they just don't care. But this is only my opinion and we are each intitled to our own opinion.

Wow! 😲 Thank you for sharing this info! I really needed a beginner course like this! I recently had to start looking at my diet as I realized my health had taken a turn and I began to feel tired & completely unmotivated! I had even stopped doing anything too physical because I was getting depressed! 😔 So I initiated some new changes, like eating whole foods & incorporating my own herbs & spices, eliminating salt & adding gut friendly probiotics, pickled beets & sauerkraut, while consuming less heavy, starchy, over sized meal portions.., eating to live not live to eat! It's still early, but my body has begun to take on a "new attitude" & I believe that as God gives me the strength.., I'll learn to live a healthier, more active & proactive lifestyle. God bless you.

Their response is I have been eating this way all my life and I am still alive, and when I try to tell them about bioengineered add ins and gmo they look at me like I have 20 billion heads and trash the way I eat telling me that I am not eating real food either, When it becomes a debate I have to walk away

Really good list, I hope people are now more aware. Everyone should read labels carefully now. Even some of the well known long time food companies now say in little print on the label "made with bioengineered ingredients" (such as Campbell's soups). Some years back, Nabisco had to admit that they added a component to Oreo cookies to make people crave them. They claimed they removed it but maybe have put it back in thinking people didn't notice. Some of the meats are the fake meats so watch for spelling such as Chic'n or Be'ef, those not 100% meat. The ones in the juice aisle that say "drink", punch or "cocktail" such as cranberry juice cocktail means it contains water and things like high fructose corn syrup or fake sugar and sometimes added colors. Loads of foods contain soybean oil which is GMO and inflammatory. Almonds used for nut milk are also highly sprayed in California so could contain pesticides. Another one that is often faked are imitiation whipped toppings, they are whipped shortning or oils and flavorings added.

Have you heard anything about Blue Diamond almonds from Cali? I’ve been eating them for a while, but have recently began to suspect they may have traces of pesticides. Furthermore, I noticed they’re not even labeled Non-GMO. Have been alert to this stuff, but even more so with the Quaker Oats study.

Thank you for making us aware of what we've been eating.Maybe that's why people don't feel well and have several Doctor visits because there is no nutrition in the food they eat. I see why people have left cities and go to more rural areas to grow and raise their own food. My Grandmother lived most of her life in rural Alabama. As a wife and mother she had 13 children, feeding them meat from the chickens they raised and game they shot. They grew their own vegetables ,mostly field peas, various greens and corn. She also knew what medicinal plants, herbs, and roots to use.She lived to be 101 years old,out living half her children.

I stopped eating all of these back when I got my first job at 18. I was finally able to buy my own groceries. Growing up, my mother would use her food stamps to buy all of these barely nutritious artificial foods.

Hi Annette, I am completely overwhelmed by grocery shopping. Some of the stores around here with organic produce also have the invisible coating on it. So now I have to choose between a science lab coating or non organic. Don’t think it’s possible for me to afford any kind of a flour mill or time to bake bread. So far all I can do is work on no sugar ( I’m on day 2). I’m realizing that you have to be pretty wealthy to feed a family of 4 on real food, even without buying any fake food. Please pray that God will give me wisdom and clarity and peace to stop feeling overwhelmed. Thank you.

Yes,produced in lab with chemicals mixed with normally inedible meat products pressurized into paste then coatings etc to resemble traditional products but costs so high.

I started eating more whole foods for a couple of months now. Mainly for trying to control blood pressure and blood sugar. I was upset when I went to see a doctor (after almost 7 years) and all she wanted to do was shove pills down my throat without discussing a way to use a whole food diet as an alternative. I truly feel better by cutting out sugar, carbs and processed foods. I hope share my testimony one day when i overcome my health issues. It may take a few years, but I will do my best to continue to eat whole foods. I am truly interested in Daniel the prophets diet and trying to find out more about it and what exactly he ate. May our Creator bless all those who plan to discover HIS VERY effective means of food consumption.

We should eat as God intended. Treatment of animals during mass production of food/drink has, in general, demonstrated poor stewardship by humans. God put man in charge of animals, and we have frequently treated them poorly. My conscience has been clear while eating vegetarian meat substitutes for the past 30 years, and I have remained healthy throughout.

Genesis 9 I wish people would read this. Meal prepared by Sarah when the Lord and two angels visited Abraham before the destruction of Sodom(Fatted Calf). Meal prepared for the “Prodigal Son” when he returned home(Fatted Calf) priestly portions for Levitical priests in Israel as part of BIBLICAL diet included Cattle(Beef) , Lamb, Goats, certain fish, grains, olive oil, fruits, vegetables. Vision given to Peter in Acts shows many ANIMALS now declared clean that if eaten with thanksgiving are blessed, Paul expounds against those who restrict eating certain things as legalism. I agree that commercial food industry treats ALL animals horribly and that is not in dispute, but being a vegan because of this shortchanges your health and if you are going to this because you think it’s Biblical is error. You can do what you want clearly but look into the scriptures referenced please and ask The Lord how you should eat for the best health.
