    Surely the biggest driving range mistake is forgetting to put the basket in the ball machine & spending the next 5min embarrassingly picking balls up!

    Excellent video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (do a search on google)? It is a good one of a kind product for revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my good mate called Gray after a lifetime of fighting got amazing success with it.

    @@jacobn.3387 exactly!! same here. A few shots each of wedges> irons> hybrids> Woods> then driver, (occasionally with and without alignment sticks, to fix any problems of the adjust technique), and then I'll "play" a few holes (with 18 birdies app or another smartphone app); alternating the appropriate clubs (without the alignment sticks). I'm usually in a good mindset and my swing is consistently on target with solid contact during a session that starts slowly with wedges.

    I always find I get more from the range by only buying 50 balls rather than 100. Usually after 60 or 70 shots I find that I start to get tired and probably waste 30 balls just to use them up.

    Surprise omission here was regarding what to do before you even hit a ball....and that’s warming up/stretching. As someone who has popped a disc in his back and torn intercostals on a number of occasions over the years, I highly recommend some simple stretching exercises before you start hitting balls. This will stop you being out of the game completely for the next month....or even longer!

    Nice group of tips!! Another tip for alignment is if you're hitting off mats, you can use the straight edge of the mat as the alignment aide! I like to just sight down the edge and see where it aligns down field, and then use that as my target point for reference as to how my shots are going. Just re-check where the edge is pointing after several shots as some mats can shift a bit. :)

    Not sure I agree with not hitting the same club over and over. I found I was getting a club to do what I wanted, but then changing before I'd really grooved what was working. Sometimes best to commit a win to memory...

    Time between shots. Have at least a few seconds rest and reflection between shots. When I'm on the range I never hit the same shot type towards the same target with the same club twice in a row. Go through the mental procedure of choosing a target, picking a club, seeing the flight and committing to the shot.

    I started doing this with a friend and it is seeming to help and brings some fun to the range. After some warmup shots with your different clubs, try playing the range like a virtual golf course setting distance, par, right and left limits. It so far seems like a fun and easy way to get in the mindset of playing with course pressure while not having to spend a ton of money on 9 - 18 holes.

    I completely agree with keeping the same tee height for driver, woods etc. But it can be difficult when hitting off mats which have rubber tees and you can't stick tees into them. Any ideas?

  • @scottiescott9297

    @scottiescott9297

    3 жыл бұрын

    I try to practice on real turf. However, when I practice at a mat range, I bring my own set of rubber tees that I purchased from ____'s Sporting Goods. I bought 3 sets at $4.99 each. For driver, I use the tallest (red) rubber tee. I cut the shorter rubber tees to specific heights that closely match my preferred low tee positions for the woods, hybrids, irons and wedges. Sometimes, I'll "occupy" 2 booths when the range is not busy or empty; one for driver and next door for low tee and deck shots. When I leave the range, I just make sure to remember that these are my tees. They also sell smaller, 1' x 2' and 3' x 5' mats with a built-in low tee height that you can use to simulate hitting low tee position and hitting on an uneven lie.

    I went to the range yesterday to try a technique I was using last season in addition to trying to keep the face a little more open at the top as I feel I tend to close the face a little bit too much. I hit a couple a of bad bad shots early and it was definitely a struggle and I hit a bunch of ugly slices with my irons . Well I went to driver and I use a different swing anyway, so that was just fine and I finish my bucket. But homeboy next to me is walking away from the range and stops and says " can I give you one small piece of advice? " I looked at him for a second, but said calmly " sure, what do you see?" He then tells me to have me face closed slightly....I said" what you want to see me hit a draw??" So I go grab two balls , put them down while he's basically standing on my dick and show him not only how I hit a draw, but I then hit a fade with the other ball just for good measure. He says" oh so you work the ball in both directions?"😅😅 I would have shown him all the 9 shots if I had more balls to hit. Lol.
