When I first went I didn’t have the right size clubs so all my shots were like 20 feet away or less there’s a good chance the like high school boys went over and took them after we left and I mean saving money

I was the ONLY PERSON on this driving range that had the 36 hitting areas (pretty big driving range) separated only by blocks on the ground. No walled partitions. I decided to start hitting from the very last spot on the right. This guy shows up and sets up in the space right beside mine (space invader). I gathered my stuff up and moved for fear he might be mentally deranged

Im the machine gun guy. Its almost as if i think you get more points by playing as fast as possible. I lack in the patience department. I want to hurry up and hit it so i can see my good shot. Lol

Don't forget the four mates warming up before a game who have to shout to each other "Ay,ay sithee did tha see that'un,eh!?". Very entertaining and well observed Jak!

I once saw a guy at the first tee who had the best clubs and was dressed in the Payne Stewart getup. He had the most serious look on his face as well. When he stepped up to the tee I expected a 300+ drive. He shanked it at a 90 degree angle and it bounced off the wall of the building close by. His friends began to laugh and razz him mercilessly and his serious expression never flinched, lol

I don’t really like the range anymore it became quite meaningless to me. I like the short game area and putting green but I prefer to practice the rest of my game using a local indoor simulator. The feedback information from each shot is extremely useful and my practice is defined by time and not the number of balls. I love it 🏌️‍♂️👍🏻

Sooo how does one teach another to golf then? I’ve taken many to the range to introduce them to this game I love.

I went when it was pretty full with bays occupied and found a spare, so teed off. After about 10 balls, the club head came off the shaft and spiraled across the range. Not long after, the bays beside me were free!

I think I've been all of these guys at some point. Except the Space Invader and Tour Pro. Not good enough to even pretend I'm that guy, and I prefer to be alone at the range usually. Oh and I've never seen a pinball wizard, but that's because my ranges are all open outdoor ranges only. No covers or walls.

Let's not forget the guy that shows up to the driving range with a bag full of clubs, selects the stall right next to yours (you both are the only two people there) does stretches and calisthenics for 30 minutes, shanks three balls with a 4-iron, then leaves talking on his cell phone.

You did forget one type though. Probably more common in city ranges. Groups of lads, normally student age, non golfers mainly, trying to Happy Gilmore the s**t out of an old driver and failing miserably! I do enjoy casually out-driving those guys with a smooth 8 iron 😂

I 🤬’ing can’t stand the space invader on the grass range at my place....no dividers and you can almost feel the breeze of their swing on your back. And there’s literally 80’ of range you can be in.

I guess I’m the tour pro minus the range finder. Always taught to hit each ball purposefully & to go through your routine. Sorry if it bothers others but it certainly helps me.

I was alone at a large range when a left-handed space invader chose the bay next to mine. After about 4 shots facing each other, I packed my stuff up and moved about 10 bays past him. He looked totally confused when he fetched more balls and saw me there. dickhead. This also seems to happen to me at car parks. Thank you.

@@JakLeeGolf that's why I tell people to go to the thrift store and get a cheap 1990s driver. Still a decent size head, but it's cheap because you're probably gonna break it. Don't make your first swing with a driver that that's 500 bucks.

These stereotype videos always have the "All Gear but No Idea" guy....and they always leave out the "No Gear Gun", who rocks up, using crappy equipment they look like they bought for $20 off e-bay, dressed like they just stopped off at the range on their way to a cheap pub or the beach and then proceed to smash every ball like a pro.

and one more question, how hard is it for a PGA Professional golfer to go to PGA TOUR? I've asked my coach once if he's playing tournament now and he says only coaching now. In amateurs' eyes, all professional golfers are so good, so what's the difference between coaches and PGA Tour golfers?

just an fyi on this is use to caddy at a club where i lived. the head pro qualified for the us open by coming in third in the pga pros tournament. he came in pretty much last place. by a good margin

The biggest difference is: 1) the quality of tour players bad shots is WAY better, 2) the ability to recover from difficult lies and situations, 3) putting and 4) perhaps the biggest difference is the mental toughness.

Hey, don't mock us training aid guys. If the coach wants me drilling with one or more training aids, that's what he's going to get. (I'm also the "video guy" - I video my range sessions for review later) But I can't believe you left out "The unsolicited advice guy."

It's not a type of driving range person since technically they're just watching not hitting but the range near my house it's guaranteed there's at least 1 or 2 of these angry moms/dads trying to live out their failed dreams as a good golfer critiquing/yelling at their 7-10 year old kid every shot that's not perfect even though they are hitting the ball better than 80% of the people there already at that age

He's the one who insists on telling everyone how he just parred Wentworth and was " melting it ," and how the pro hates giving lessons when he's practicing.Apparently he was once banned from the range, because when the pro was showing a member how to use a driver,he took his 4 iron out and put it 20 yards past the pro's best shot.The pro hates him etc etc.

I'm the guy that comes walking in with my Mizuno blades and everybody laughs because I'm 40 pounds overweight and wearing basketball shorts and a t-shirt then I start hitting my 20 degree hybrid further than their driver and they move to the end of the bay and start whispering and pointing lmao... I've hustled many of people for 1,000s of dollars too
