I'm guessing people are going to get angry at this one. That's okay, you're allowed to be angry. Also it could be 12 names not 11 depending if any happens with Moldova and Romania.

*must've or must have, not must of, this is a common mistake since the pronounication of must've could've should've would've resembles that of must of could of should of would of, but in gramatical terms it is completely wrong, since those are non tense defining auxiliary verbs which must be followed by the main verb or the tense defining auxiliary verb, in the case, the present perfect is used, with have being the tense defining auxiliary verb for the present perfect.

Concerning Czechia: the reason most Czechs don't like it is because "Čechy" is Czech for "Bohemia", one of the three constituting regions of the country. Calling it Czechia (essentially just Bohemia) leaves out Moravians and Silesians.

Interesting and well-made video! I had no idea that those East African countries were considering merging. Fascinating to follow its development in the future! BTW I do have one nitpicking: Whereas it is true that the Belgian variety of Dutch is often informally and colloquially referred to as "Flemish", its official name in Belgium is still "Dutch". So perhaps you were referring to it a little bit too much as "Flemish" throughout the video. It is actually in a rather complicated situation and the term "Flemish" is rather ambiguous. Most of the dialects spoken in Flanders are crossing the border to the Netherlands, so linguistically, you cannot really separate out Netherlands Dutch from Belgian Dutch like that. On the other hand, there is an intermediate language emerging in Flanders that stands in between the official Dutch and local dialects called "tussentaal". This is often referred to as "Flemish" too. There is a lot more to this, but maybe that is something for an entire video. If you would like some help with it, just let me know!

I'm from Kazakhstan. The absurdness of changing our country's name that was brought to our attention in 2014 was off the roof. First of all, Kazakhstan and Kazakh Yeli mean the exact same thing. The "stan" in country's name stands for "land of", e.g. Pakistan = land of the paks, Uzbekistan = land of the uzbeks and Kazakhstan = land of the kazakhs. "stan" is a persian word, however, and "yeli" is kazakh. But still, putting aside the fact that the actual meaning behind the word wouldn't change, the name "kazakh yeli" itself sounds really stupid for foreigners. And idk where you got that people dislike the name "kazachia" because it sounds like "rossia". I don't know anyone who used this argument. It has to do more with the fact that Kazakhstan is a very multi-cultural country and "Kazachia" sounds a bit nationalistic. On the other hand, czech people wanting to change their country's name to "Czhechia" is so logical. Idk about other parts of the world, but in all of the CIS everyone calls their country as "Czechia". No one calls it "the Czech Republic".

Romania is an union of 3 principalities: Wallachia (the most important, populated, also in Romanian, the name of Wallachia is "The Romanian Country", this is where the name of Romania came) little parts: Oltenia, Muntenia and Dobrogea (1/3 from Dobrogea is now in Hungary) most time occupied by Turks (even if all principates were, this was the longest time anexed by Ottoman Empire) Moldova, most time occupied by Russia. It's shared between Moldova, Bassarabia, Cetatea Alba (or..idk how to call it), Bucovina and Herta land. Next WW2, to evite a funny annexation by USSR, Romania was supposed to give Northern part of Bucovina, Basarabia, Cetatea Alba and Herta land to it. when USSR broke up, Basarabia+A little part from another land, Transnistria (with a questionable Romanian minority). The rest, got in Ukraine. Transylvania, most time occupied by Hungary and Austrian states (all of them). Shared in: Ardeal, Maramures, Crisana and Banat. Is the newest in Romania. (Wallachia and Moldova got freedom in 1856 (or smth like that) from Ottoman Empire and created Romania. Transylvania couldn't get freedom from Austria-Hungary (or Austrian Empire...idk). In ww1, Romania got Transylvania and the country started the greatest era from it's existence. Transylvania is more diverse at considerably minorities. So, if Moldova Rep. (Basarabia) joins in Romania, there will be no reasons to recall the country "Molmenia" (also this will be very unfair for Transylvanians). Modlova will be just more complete and Romania as well.

While I do like your videos, they are mostly done from Anglophone perspective. For example, Czechia is just English language term, as the native Czech name wouldn't change at all. It's worth remembering that. You made a lot videos explaining names, or why some of them are so similar, but those are questions that only English speaking people would ask. Another example of that would be video explaining differences between Austria and Australia, or Slovenia and Slovakia. In their native languages, people don't have such problems, as names are totally different from each other, or their similarity can be explaining by looking at the words alone. I do of course realize that most of your viewers are Anglophones as well. And don't get me started on the pronounciation... But that, of course has to do with English language itself. It's easier for a non English speaker to pronounce English names, than other way around. Still, it would be nice to pronounce W in Wallonia or Wallachia as a V, because that W sounds so... bad.

También hay la variación que Argentina usó alguna vez las «Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata».

Well, about Moldova and Romania: 1. Molmania is a bad name 2. Moldova has a pro-Russian president (we only elected him last year) 3. Don't forget about Transnistria (also called Pridnestrovie) which is a part of Moldova, but behaves as a separate country now and wants to become a part of Russia later. PS They really don't speak Romanian in there 4. There is also an partly autonomous region in Moldova called Gagauzia (officially Gagauz yeri) where people also almost don't speak Romanian at all 5. Please don't start a 3rd WW in my country. In a unification takes place, Russia will certainly be mad. PS remember Transnistria? Russia has its troops there...
