Minister Latonya Allen knows the need for domestic violence (DV)/ interpersonal violence (IPV) awareness. She understands how to initiate and navigate hard conversations regarding the dangers of maintaining silence. Her knowledge comes from the traumatic lived experience that came with the unfathomable situation that the words “I do” resulted ultimately in the tragedy of murder for both of her parents and the attempted murder on her own life at the hands of someone who vowed to care for her. All of this was witnessed by their children.
