I sent my daughter over and they did not charge her a penny lol. I think the price would normally be $100 Canadian. So she went back the next day with a bottle of Vodka for my service advisor. @@Anthony-gy9ze

Great video, thanks. Just got my kit today, headed to Ford tomorrow to have it flashed.

Damn. It's almost 11PM and I went to check to see if I had the pressure switch on my 2014 f150. Checked and I got it. So, that means I'm good on just getting the kit you bought.

It's interesting that the remote start antenna is actually plugging into the same module that reports tire pressures. Interesting way to make a required module serve a secondary purpose. I cracked open that module in my kit (using a spudger) it really is just an antenna.

I have a 14 with entire tpms disabled through forscan. Could I still add this remote start then ?

Best and easiest add-on I have done yet but I recommend getting the extension wire to run the antenna to the headliner. I can start my truck a little over 300 ft away with it in the headliner.

When I was shopping around Id say about half had the brake controller but they were also equipped with tow mirrors. Mine is an xlt but previous owner never towed anything.

Good video. Bought a 2013 F150 yesterday and I want remote start. I found one online and it said to hit your "lock" button 3 times to start the truck. So, just for fun, I tried it, as-is. My truck started right up!! So happy it is already there and I don't need to buy one.

Ooh, I gotta try that! The one key mine came with (I just got my 2011 a few weeks ago) doesn't have a remote start button, but I haven't tried hitting the lock button 3 times to see if that works.

@Jared I found another Ford dealer that did everything and put the option in the dash to adjust the time it runs for. I want to say I paid right around $100 for everything.

If you buy a Forscan module you can program all of that stuff yourself and use a locksmith to do the keys. I'd say they're cheaper than the dealership.

You can call an automotive locksmith to come out and cut and program the 2 keys. For me, it's about $140 for both keys. The dealership wanted $150 to just cut just one key without programming. Also, you can use FORScan to unlock the remote start feature. If you want to as well, you can also use FORScan to program your 2 keys. But you would still need them cut. Which is why I chose to just have the locksmith do it for me. But I did use FORScan to unlock the remote start feature myself.

Alot of guys will tell you to get forscan so you can program it yourself. Something to look into.

Dude, i had no idea my truck was already wired for remote start, i have the plunger under the hood and i see where it plugs into....my OEM remote start is in the mail. I also found Forscan while researching,, no trip to the dealer needed for me, I will unlock the computer myself....Great video

I bought the uncut key and antenna as a package from Fairway Ford, again, I see they only have the kit with 2 keys and it seems more expensive. There are videos on the install of the OEM remote start also.

Hey dude, my 2014 raptor does not have the remote start so I plan on adding it. I checked the hood for the plunger✔️ I also checked to see if there is the plug in for the antenna✔️. But then I called the dealer about unlocking the feature, they said it was almost impossible unless I wanted to spend thousands of dollars. I pretty much believe this guy was incompetent. Not sure where to go with this now. Trying to track down the right dealership to help me out.

It sounds like what I did should work in your case. I know I stopped going to my usual deal because they told me my truck was out of warranty when it definitely wasn't. Went to another one and they said it was and changed the pinion seal under warranty. They might say it's thousands of dollars because that's how much it'll cost in labor for them to do it.

I would try and go to a different dealer. Sometimes they will charge different rates. Usually they charge per hour and should take less than an hour to program it.

I have factory remote start on my 14 and it sucks! You have to lock the doors make the horn honk then it will start but only if you are close enough to the truck! I could go on about how crappy it is, but I won’t.

The way mine works is just one push of the lock button then twice on the remote start button, no honks. Plus it works at a good distance. I have no complaints on my system.

I know in the gauge cluster there is a menu setting for quiet start. That might work otherwise I'm not too sure. It might be something with the aftermarket system itself.

I only have one key as well for mine. But on the dash it says two keys are registered. Do you know if I will have to take mine to the dealer to get the new keys programmed like you did ?

You say 09 through 14 but my 2010 has separate key and key fob and when I go on line the one you installed is not compatible with my truck

Yes my original key still works for the truck, it just doesn't have the button for the remote start. But when I bought my truck it only came with the one key anyways.

If you have two keys, you just turn one key to the on position (don't start the truck), and turn the second key to the on position within five seconds. Take the second key out and put the key you want to program and turn it to the on position. Done.

@@retroghost2293 It seems as no one has posted a reply to your question 10 months ago, but one way to tell if this will work for your truck is to pop your hood open and look on the drivers side about halfway up to see if there is a plunger style switch. If you have this switch already mounted, then your truck came with factory remote start already installed, minus the antenna, which the antenna that is in this video, is actually the extended range antenna. Buy the kit mentioned above with the antenna and the keys, install it like the video shows and then you will either have to 1) take the truck to the dealer to get remote start turned on in your truck settings so that you have the options to change them such as Run duration, whether or not you want the heater/ac to come on, etc on your dash cluster OR 2) you can use an application called Forscan to actually do the programming and enabling the remote start and settings yourself without having to pay the dealer to do it. You can also program your remote control keyfobs yourself. Just go get them cut and make sure that they fit in your ignition and then program them. Your owners manual should have the instructions to do this under the PATS part of the manual.

Since it's a factory controller it has to be programmed so it can display the gain on the dashboard. Otherwise it won't work.

I only got the one with two keys since I only had one as is. Only thing, I'm not sure your keys have the remote start button. But I believe there is a lot with only one key.

Fom what I heard this on applys to the 11-14 models. The 09-10 supposedly have a different harness through out the truck. But you might be able to get an aftermarket plug and play system.

I feel like this would work for the raptor as well. The wire harness shouldn't be all that much different from the regular f150s.

The truck will do that if the hood is slightly open or of there's a check engine light on. I would double check the hood switch.

You can program the keys to work with your truck by yourself. It's easy there's video on how to do it. The only think that can't easily be programmed is the keyfob (the bottens). That has to be programmed by the dealership or by using a software.

Not sure if it'll work on the '10. I've heard different things.

Besides my battery in my key slowly dieing, still works great!

How did you check to see that your truck was "ready" for just the antenna? And how much did it cost to get the keys coded?

I checked under the hood for the safety plunger on the driver side and for the plug in under the dash. My dealer charged me $135 for the keys, brake control, and remote start activation.

@@imeric3026 I believe I had a local locksmith company cut them but ford can also cut them aswell if I'm correct.

@@HitchinMitch yeah, I'm working on doing this whole process, if I had 2 keys, I would only need them cut. But just got it used and it only has one.

Do i need to get a module also or just the parts you showed on the video?

Depends how are equipped your truck is from factory. So my had the plunger under the hood which in theory led me to believe everything but the antenna was there. So then I purchased everything I have in the video and then had to have it programmed either by the dealer or through forscan for it to work off the keys.

@@HitchinMitch my truck is similiar to yours. Has the hood plunger also. I called the dealership near me and they quoted me a price that supposedly included adding the module. Thought it was ridiculous! I also saw your video adding the brake control. I have the towing pkg but not the brake control. The kit I want to get comes with a module and fuse. Do you think I need all that or just the brake control?

@@pascualsolis1760 If you have the plunger you should be able to get by with the same kit I purchased. For the brake controller, mine was taken from a truck being parted out. Installed it and had it programmed to work in the truck and didn't need anything else. I didn't have to add a fuse but also have the factory tow package. Hopefully this helps. 👍
