This song, from the Deceptive Bends album, should be an all time great song. What a showcase of transitional musicianship. Thanks for the reaction. This song always sits in my head for days after listening to it again. I can live with that.
Tre, excellent review! This was a live recording. There are many versions of this song and each a little different in the Part 3 solo bass and guitar work. The expression "don't go out without your shoes on" was common in the cities England at the time, meaning essentially the same as: "don't get caught with your pants down" First verse is all metaphor for the idea you aren't as big as you think you are
Thank you for reacting to this one. It's one of my favorite songs ever.
Ah, the live version from the live album: live and let live. Had a tape from this tour, the offcial album and a vhs of a concert of this tour in Hammersmith Odeon. This song is so great. Every time I have seen 10CC perform live they did something completly different with the end solo.
Only one on Ytube. Thank you. This track got through me through a lot of tough times........I felt the benefit.
Live at the Hammersmith Odeon, London. Unfortunatly Godley and Creme who left the band, didn;t allow to play any of the songs they wrote. So this concert was mostly a live performance of the Deceptive Bends album, with a few extra tracks Goudlman and Stewart did wrote. Fortunatly those were good songs
another masterpiece
Hi Tre, i thought when i requested it you might have thought it was to long, lol, then i thought ah there is great Bass bars in it,so he will let me off with it.Anyway so glad you enjoyed it,i think my DJing is coming back again lol.Have sent some more requests to day with a paypal, hope you like the next lot coming Lol,best wishes from Ian and Josie, and all of Bonnie Scotland.
This was without Godley & Creme (McCartney w/o Lennon, Gilmour w/o Waters…) I miss them in these later albums.
If everyone went out without their shoes on...there would be a lot of people with cold feet?
