Looks like a nice grinder. Of all the jobs to do standing up to a grinder kills my back worse than any of the others. That's a lot of grind! But it doesn't be long going. Good work team! I saw a decent one that was bigger at Costco - might be worth checking out if you are thinking of upgrading

I think we’ll upgrade the stuffer next year. The jump up to a commercial grinder is a good $350 more. Snap a photo next time you’re at Costco, it will be interesting to see! We let our membership lapse now we’re more self sufficient, but we miss it!

@Full on Family without limits I saw it in Newfoundland when I was home spring break on my brother's membership haha. We are too far away to justify it and we don't buy meat any more so it wasn't worth it anyhow. Enjoy the sausages!

Looks like a nice grinder! For future reference, if you cube the pork and put it in the freezer for a little bit (doesn't have to be totally frozen, but nicely chilled) the grinding is much easier. Also, you can also stick the grinding plate and metal housing (where the meat goes through) in the freezer as well, it'll keep the meat colder while you're grinding. You don't want the meat to get too warm. You can't beat homemade fresh sausage!! Great job!

Super, thanks for the suggestion. We were putting the tote in the freezer to chill, but hadn’t thought about putting the grinding plate in there. Definitely will give that a go! Homemade sausages are the best. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

@@FullonFamilywithoutlimits You're very welcome! Couple years back we did a "small scale" sausage making using a KitchenAide mixer attachment and learned little tips and tricks to make things easier. I've always been of the mindset....knowledge is gold! Pass it on. Also, from previous experience....when making a batch...fry up a portion to make sure the spices are to you're liking. You can always add a little more to your taste. Great to see you were using a scale to weigh the ground pork before adding the spices! I've got to get back into making sausage,...it's so much better!
