    Finally…..success. So easy to follow and saved an embarrassing call to our locksmith (mine had dead batteries lol). Sidenote, this lock is on a pole barn of a new home purchase. The master key code is the only one that has been used in four years. Your explanation that every one of these locks is set to the same master code (yikes). Great information as we now have a more secure pole barn area. Big props to the video Creator, sincere thanks going up to you!

    Great information, thanks for doing this and great to see you back making more videos Kilo 😊 Hadn’t heard of these before but sounded like they’ve exploded in popularity at least in your area or with AirBnBs. I wonder if there’s an extended lockout period after entering so many bad codes, because there’s basically only 999 possibilities for the master code, might not take that long for someone to go through them all especially with that aggressively quick turn-off 🤔

    The crazy part is that each code can be up to 15 digits! So, it really would be a guessing game! For the video I just stuck with the factory code to make the info easier to follow! In the Notes section I kind of touched on the 15 digit maximum, but it does have a 4 digit minimum lol I am seeing this more and more as I live in a "tourist town", short term rentals make up around 35-40% of the homes in the area!! It's to a point that I just expect to see this lock now when I am called to them haha!

    @@LockandKilo you’re right, in did miss that (15 digit max for codes) in the notes section, sorry about that. But since the master is 4 digits and people are pretty used to 4 digit PINs, I’d bet 95% or more people just stick with 4 digits 🤣

    @@Chirael Very true, commonly 4-6 digits are what most people seem to stick with lol Phone numbers are 10 digits long because 10 digits is the max amount most people can retain. 15 digits is an insane amount of encryption for a lock that can be credit card bypassed lol

    Out of the box, 0123# lights it up as though it’s awaiting further command but does not unlock it. The manual says to input a new code starting with 0 to change this master at this point but it’s not working. Any input?

    Great videos! I've been locksmithing for 3 years, and now I'm starting my own business in Louisville, KY. Most of the property managers here do thier "locksmithing" in-house by handyman. Any suggestions on how to get residential/ and commercial work? All the best!

    Louisville is a pretty large city, most cities like that usually have a ton of competition. Best place to start would be making some unique business cards, even start small with some magnets for your truck (cost around $30 each average). Maybe even look into joining your local Chamber of Commerce. It's not a real big ROI, but it lets you connect with a ton of local businesses in your area and introduce yourself at mixers as the new Locksmith. After that, a google listing and relying on your quality of work and pricing will depend on how people will refer you. Always answer your phone(during business hours), be reliable and dependable. That goes a long way in itself for clients.

    Can a tenant reset by using the default master code ? I created my own master code

  • @LockandKilo

    @LockandKilo

    Technically anyone with the Master Code can reset. If the building manager installed it, it’s always a good idea to ask their permission to change it! If you change it, it’s always a good idea to inform the building manager of the change!
