    My physics teacher in high school lived during that time.He later had to flee the country for 30 years and lived in West Germany.He even had stories about his 'participation' as he was helping the revolutionaire's by cooking for them.

    Fun fact:the Americans tested 2 nukes on several Warships after World War 2(in the Bikini Atoll)codename: Operation Crossroads testing it on old outdated Super-Dreadnoughts,like the Battleships New York and Nevada,some ships they no longer needed like the Aircraft Carrier Saratoga,and some captured Warships,like the Battleship Nagato,the Destroyer Sakawa,and the Heavy Cruiser Prinz Eugen(for Navy nerds out there,yes,THAT Prinz Eugen)

    You forget the overthrow of the democratically elected Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh of Iran in 1953 by both the US and UK and we are still dealing with the aftermath of that little bit of regime chance to this day......all because Mosaddegh seemed to be a little bit leftie......

    Eisenhower let the Soviets get sputnik into space first, allowing them to unwittingly open space to being a free-fly zone unlike the "no fly zones" recently established on Earth. He saw the future of surveillance possibilities. We were actually way ahead of them in satellite development.
