100W Mini Heater (DIY)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

100W Mini Heater (DIY).Make your own mini heater using 1000w heating element coil, which has resistance of 55-60 ohms.Just divide 60 by 220 then multiply by 12,you will get required resistance for small portion of coil that will be used for making 12v powered mini heater.Power source 12v to 15v, 10A is okey for this project. Please use cemented type insulator instead of plastic materials at input junction if you want to use heater for prolonged time.Heater can be used for making Omelet,to warm up water, to heat your hands during winter etc.Have fun !!!

very clever , thats brilliant . ive been trying to work out how to turn the energy from my solar panels into heat for my storage heater and this is perfect, if its reasonable weather i get between 10 and 30 amp 12v i'll just put the 2 coils in to the middle of the heater it will produce a background heat . how long does it take to boil a cup of water? how long do the elements last before they burn out? totally brilliant

Thank you.To boil a cup of water,It takes almost 20mins,if source is 12v 20A average.Coil last for long period if we avoid water drop on it and at connection terminal, coil's ends must be in vertical .

Looks like you miscalculated, the 2 windings are connected parallel to the power source so: S (Apparent Power) = V x I = 13V x (3.5Ohm/2) = 13V x 1.75 Ohm = 22.75 VA While for P (Real Power) there must be a power factor that has been measured because the formula is P = V x I x Cos Phi. So it can be concluded that the tool is only 22.75 watts (Cos Phi is considered 1). Hope this helps and please discuss about this

I reckon the clay is used as a refractory element to hold the wire and distribute the heat more evenly. Since only the top of the element needs to heat up the bottom half or three quarters of the tin can could be filled with perlite or vermiculite as insulation to prevent the heat from transfering downwards. Nice tutorial, thank you!

You could do it with 220 V, BUT only if you have longer wire. You should calculate it correctly. Home fuse will burn if current is more than 10-16 Amps ( depending of fuse). So check your fuse and than calculate. For example : Take wire with resistance R = 30 Ohm. I = 230 / 30 - > I = 7.66 A. P = U * I = 230 * 7.66 P = 1.7 KW This will probably work 😁

That depends upon the power source. Power source must be 12v- 15v AC or DC, 10A minimum. If we have 12v- 15v, 20A power supply, then we can connect two heaters, 3 heaters need 30A, 4 heaters need 40 A and so on. ......but voltage remains same 12v- 15v. ......And do not connect it directly to 220v AC supply socket.

I have an idea for this, find quartz heater element,it is rated 400W each.open both cemented cap and inside tube there is filament.take out it,cut in the middle of coil. Now each becomes suitable to run with 110v,200W.But we need such coil that runs with 220v,so either you must have step down voltage regulator or connect two 400W coil in series than it can be run with 220v,but won't glow like single coil.Actually I did not find matching coil in the market.if you find any idea, please share with me thank you.
