Hi Rob, Great build, your car is beautiful. I participated in Jorge's Proxy last year and it is very fun to watch the car you built go around someone else's track. Good luck and I will be keeping an eye out for it

Lol, I'd rather it didn't get scratched, but I already split the body and had to repair it, so another mark can be fixed 🙂

Rob, your attention to detail and skill are exquisite. Truly flabbergasting 😮. And your patient walkthrough and explanation are truly inspiring. I really feel I should experiment working with brass after watching this, although I’d probably end up with something that handled like it would make your pre-mod Alpine look smooth… Thanks again, and bravo, bravo!

Thank you Bernard, working in brass is not all that hard once you have understood a few basic rules and got some basic tools. Email me through Swift Sixteen website if you'd ever like some advice :-) Good luck.

Thanks Rob, that’s a very kind offer. I’ve got a number of other projects that I need to progress first, but a brass chassis is now on my list!
Hi Rob, Truly inspirational scratch building! Fantastic ideas expertly executed throughout. It's so good that the only problem I have is the YT speed choices don't give me enough of slow playback option for my liking, LOL I'll be re-watching this 100th video many - many times. Congrats all the way around!! Best Regards, Jack

Outstanding. Would love to replicate the chassis. Will try. See you use a torch for some of your soldering. Interesting. And the use of a angle grinder. That's what we call it, for making cuts on your brass. Just curious of the size of it. I have one and I know they can be hard to handle and dangerous. The way you whip it around is unbelievable. A great inspiration. Was recently given a metal lathe from my father-in-law. Plan on playing with it for builds.

Hello PistolPete, If you meant the light torch lighting up the work being soldered, yes, all the irons I have come fitting with lights in them. It's not an option I would choose, but they come as standard now. If you mean a gas blowtorch, I have soldered with my blowtorch set-up, but very rarely on Slot cars (unless silver soldering). The 4" angle grinder is a great tool IF USED CAREFULLY. You need to keep the metal quenched in water to keep it cool and if cutting in you hand, let the disc (1mm) do the cutting and feel it cutting. DON'T force the cut, that's where you can get into trouble! Also keep your fingers and eyes out of the path of a shattering disc (just incase!) The flap wheel I'm using is an 8o grit disc, it's awesome for gently shaping with no stress on the parts rather than hacking away with a hand file! The lathe will be fun, remember, keep your tooling sharp, take light cuts and keep the cutter at or a little less than the centre line of the work. Have fun 🙂
Wow , just doesn’t seem to do this build justice. Someone needs to come up with a better word 👍🏆🏁

I'm a brit and having guns in the UK is NOT an easy thing, but I do actually have a Revolver (all legal). Mine has wooden grips, not as pretty as pearl, but then mine is BP, so it's cool as hell 😀 Thank you for the comment 🙂
