Powell was 🔥🔥🔥. He held down Jamaica splendidly, alone when there were no Jamaican star power. Now because of Bolt and Blake people chose to forget about his achievements and judged him. He had his peak , people , and aged like any other.

@@user-vm9hh2se7s He holds the Guiness World Record for the most sub 10 runs in competition. That is an achievement. Also he held the 100m world record before Bolt. Not many can say they've held that record. The man isn't as succesful as BoIt in individual medals but he has his own achievements. Further, the OP was not even comparing the two; they were simply stating that before Bolt, Asafa was Jamaica's "star" athlete for sprint races

Well, as we now know, NO GOLD for Tyson! What is really strange is that Tyson had the race up to 20 yards to go. He is known for kicking away, even from Bolt. He did this in England earlier this year, and left Bolt behind. I think there is a witch on his back-so to speak. He can never seem to break even.

Powell was never fit enough to run his fastest in major championship finals. He could not recover from the heats and semis so he never ran a PB in a major final while other athletes were running their best race of the year in the major final so he could never win the big one. The Bolt came along and that was it for Powell's chances at winning. There are a few drug comments here. Powell was coached for years by Stephen Francis and many of that group, including Powell have failed drug tests. Interestingly enough, the other major sprint training group in Jamaica, Bolt's group coached by Glen Mills, has not had any failed drug tests to my knowledge. So if you want to know if a Jamaican sprinter is clean just check which training group they are in and you might have a good idea.
