Guess he's trying to bring this back, they nerfed the sea mines on land over a year ago because many sea planes carried smaller bombs but could carry 4 or so sea mines.

Yes, using sea mine on ground targets is insane bombing

The great thing about the sea mine is that it doesn’t whistle like other bombs when it’s being dropped. It’s actually silent, meaning the enemy will never knew what hit them.

Irl and in game they can be used as a 1000 ib bomb with much more explosive filler than the normal 1000 ib bomb. Making it way more effective.

1000LB is not that big. Germams has SC500 bomb on Stuka, which is even bigger than 1000LB.

There is more TNT in a mine than in 1000 pounds, it weighs less, the fragments spread more. When he pumped planes in joint battles, he always took mines or torpedoes.
