Could you put a small block with channels to keep the motor a half inch off the frame and cables?

Why not install gear shift sensor? Reprogram the throttle too

Didnt want to spend the extra money when that method works well enough, and tried using the software to reset it, but it didnt seem to have an effect on it.(as per the manufacturers instruction)

@@stevemania1 You need a programming cable. Then you can tune your motor, and how the PAS / throttle function.

I've been thinking about getting an ebike for a while now and I just recently discovered these mid drive kits. I've learned a lot about them since seeing your vids so thanks for making this kind of content available! They look amazing for the performance and price, but where I live in Canada they aren't technically allowed because of the power and speed so I've been on the fence about it. The off the shelf bikes I've seen can be had for close to the same price but they're about half as fast and useless uphill. I guess I could just chuck it in the car and take it directly to a trail to be on the safe side, but I'd like to be able to ride it on a road. I'm just wondering whether I should be worried. Have you ever been stopped and asked about the specs on your bikes?

I live in ontario I typically ride Country roads, waterfront trails, and all kinds of off road trails in the area and have yet to be stopped. But i usually am ghost peddling and obeying the traffic laws. Ive never really given cops a reason to pull me over yet tho! Definitely go for it, just ride reasonably and make sure your bike functions like a bike :D

@@stevemania1 Yeah I figured it wouldn't be a big enough deal for them to bother as long as you're using it in a safe way that doesn't put others in danger. OK you've convinced me! I'm ordering a kit and giving this a try :D

The cops have better things to do than harass a cyclist. Like steve said, just use the power sensibly and don't drive it like a @#$%$ in the trails when other people are around. I have a 500W 32kph limit in my province. No problem.

Don't run quick release rear axles. Switch them out for real chromoly solid axles. Also make sure the bearings are well greased and the axle is tensioned properly.

I agree. I'm about to change to quick release axle on the front of my fathers E-bike. The one we got that came with solid axles feels SO much sturdier. It's the bike I prefer. (Bee Cool pathfinder & Bee Cool Ranger bikes) The ranger is solid axle & feels solid. I'm about to get the Bee Cool Challenger. I'm the biggest in the family, & I'm excited to drive to to work which is less than 3 miles away. The pathfinder takes me 34mph, the Ranger takes me 22mph but I prefer the Ranger for its suspension. I think the Challenger will be the best of both worlds. (Best motor & wheel size ratio for me) I have put over 50 miles on both. Can't wait to see the Challenger. I should do reviews on the bike I do have.
