This guy is not scared to get after it and stay in it as long as he wants and is cool as a cucumber while doing it. I respect his driving demeanor. I imagine that if that truck gets sideways he would probably turn out of it pedaling the throttle and enjoy the action. In most of the episodes I have seen, the drivers get on it for a bit as long as the car is going straight. Not this man, he goes into the deep end and searches for more. He runs on Adrenaline and Dopamine.

I have a close relative of mine back in the day driving like a mad man in a tricked out '76 Pontiac Grand prix, having it floored, car screaming like a bat outta hell simultaneously screaming.... They need to bring shop class back. Imagine the builds we would have if more people had access. They should’ve never took it out of schools, it’s been downhill ever since.

Awesome Truck Blank!! 5.3 is probably the best engine that Chevy has put out. It’s versatile and hard working and reliable. You really don’t need a bunch of money to make a build like that, it’s more labor and tweaking. Great Video Shawn and I would love to meet Blank and his crew. Lots of knowledge to absorb, just freaking awesome.

I know this will enter some young guy or gal's want to start this way of life, but let them kind of know, what it cost to build and upkeep on some of these builds . I have seen so many lose interest and money, by getting too deep into a build. ..

I just started watching this channel a few days ago and I gotta say this is my favorite episode. They’re all good, but this just hits different. The passion, story and human element makes it special. Very cool truck. A little optimistic on 1000hp at 8psi on a 5.3. You'd need around 650na to reach a 1000 flywheel hp with no efficiency loss. Probably closer to 18 psi for 1000 flywheel hp.

I had to rewind to make sure i heard him right when he said he' making 1000 hp NO BOOST. With stock heads, ring gap and a cam. Yeah alright.

Why did I get the shivers when he hit the pedal :). Bro, this is what I wanted for my brothers and me because this is what we have grown up around. Our paps had us going in the fields with 250 cars, so we could find motors or parts for a car he wanted us to build. My brothers took a different path, and I still do what I like. I have a 57 Apache and a 1970 Ford Torino GT convertible that I'm adding some treats to it.

I honestly don’t know what is cooler the truck with that sleeper boost set up or the owner himself… both are like the final boss to a car video game… don’t know what hit you until its too late and with a smile 😂

9 out of 10 drivers would pile this up in a 2 week period (if that long) if they tried to drive this truck like this. Kudos to this builder and driver. Great video as well.

Had a 68 RS/SS Camaro back in the 1980's. At the street races in the San Fernando Valley 2x a week. Remember going to LA to see these guys run and remember his Green El Camino. We wouldn't bring our cars down there. Ever.

Had a 67 rs same time, sfv it was ablast. The LA scene wasnt for me, only went once I was warned abunch not to. Used to run 3-4 nights a week in the valley good times. Cops left us alone nobody really got out of hand unlike today

Best interview and vehicle I've seen yet, simple setup(It has to go into boost a sometime, I don't know how you can get 1000 hp out of a 5.3 unless your in boost), I have a similar 6.0 setup coming on my 1972 chevelle which will kick in boost at 3500 rpm 56mm Borg Warner's.

Im assuming when he kept saying "no boost" he meant that it gets only 1-3 PSI cause of how its set up. But yeah I dont see how else you get a 5.3 to 1000hp with zero boost.
