Thanks John for putting this vid together!! This is pure GOLD is you're building one of these series transmissions. This really helps explain the why's and wherefores' on all the performance pieces that go into the various power level builds, thanks again!!

Great education. I've never torn down a trans as I feel they are mystery boxes. This really helped understanding that mystery.

john, thank you, your the man, i only build for 450hp max, put in a clutch and steel in where i can, but the most important part of your video is the tolerances. thanks you, don does well for stock, richard helps, but your the only build video i follow.

Awesome video, as usual. I have a question about the wavy snap ring, in the rear drum. Does it affect the clearance of the Belleville spring to piston, or the clutch pack?

Thank you for taking the time! I just did a check over to the trans in my Dakota. I couldn’t find the single orange Teflon ring for the input shaft and ended up using the oem metal ring. Do you sell a Teflon ring kit? Cregger

I'm doing a 46re right now and, I'm having problems with the forward clutch pack. Everything Is stock other than the kolene steels and GPZ clutches. I install all 4 clutches and the 3 steels put the end plate on and no room to install the snap ring. Can I remove a clutch or steel? I did notice both the clutches and steels are thicker then what was removed.

Is enlarging the hole on a 904 front drum recommended also??

I was pulling my hair out trying to get my trans together, with the billet drum. Hours wasted. Was hitting the vent.

A question for anyone willing to answer; in my rebuild, I've viewed alot of different guys videos, hoping to soak up info and trade secrets certain guys have. Almost half of them have mentioned "rollorized bearing planetaries", but won't quite go into what tha process involves or what this final product even looks like. Anyone willing to shed some light to an old school new timer? Thanks. Shortshit1000
