That’s my Aunt Doris and Uncle Bobby, what a lovely video. I wish my father Walter Billimek was still here to join their conversion.❤

I hope they each had children, and grandchildren to pass on the stories, care for the land, and that the Billimek last name continues.

I pray that there are decendants that want to keep the land and keep ranching! There's nothing better for the soul than being on and working the land. ❤❤❤

There's thousands of folks just like these two across the country just as interesting.
I think all of the older generation needs to video tape the stories of their lives to pass down to their children and grandkids. Good stories like this will die if you don't share them. Thanks for sharing your stories.

I think of it more as a recipe. How they have done things is how you're supposed to do things. Things get tough from time to time, these people got tougher and overcame. I love it

Interview you’r old relatives. Do it now. I wish I had been able to interview my grandfather before he died but the iPhone (cell phone cameras) wasn’t around then and it was difficult with the tape recorders. Not impossible but I didn’t do it. Now it’s much easier. Set an interview your grandparents or the oldest folks in your family and ask them about their lives. Ask them about the hard times and the good and how they made it through both❤️
Just love this! Grew up in rural South Dakota in the 60s and 70s sure miss those days. Could listen to these folks all day! 🥰
These two are rich beyond measure. National treasures. ❤❤ Thank you for the videos. I just love them.
Living in Texas. I’m tellin ya. These people are tough and they live long and healthy lives. I hate to see their ranches sold to make housing developments.

We need more people like this now more than ever. People need to go back to their roots at doing these things ( gardening, close family ties, etc) and being as humble as these two are as we are facing some serious issues with the way our country is going.

Oral histories cannot ne contained in a book, this is so special.
Bless these two, this generation is a wealth of knowledge
I’ve bought oil and gas leases since 1968 and this country is full of people like this. I’m blessed to have met so many good people while working for the oil companies as an independent contractor. I had to black sisters I leased in Meadville, Mississippi I’ll never forget one was 100 years old and the other 103 years old. They were a wealth of information on the family histories of everyone in the area.

I have a friend who used to lease land (is that called a "landman"?) Meeting the good people like these two kept him depressed all the time - cause he knew they were the last generation in their class. I loved to talk to him about them but he got too sad so we discussed idiot politicians.

This is so amazing to me it literally makes me feel like I am talking to my grandparents who passed away. I work on their farm that they purchased back in the day. And it is still in my family. It's on its fourth generation. And we are so proud to say that we have no outside help. We do it all ourselves except for we milk. Almost 200 cows twice a day. But this is so impressive to see these 2. Much respect to both of them. God bless all the farmers and the people who grow up this way. And who went through those hard times like the drought? I could not even imagine. These types of people. Are so few and far between these days that they're almost not existent. Everyone breaks down and ends up selling their land because it's just not practical or profitable to have a farm these days, but we do it because we love it, and we would not want to be doing anything else.

Most people sell their land because they can't afford the rent (property taxes). You will have nothing and you will be happy says Klaus.
What a wonderful story. With all the recent developments growing and inviting Californians in to destroy our way of life, I'm glad they have held out!

I grew up on what used to be a farm and ranch in very rural hills in Santa Rita NM. No one around us. Sadly some family were money hungry and sold. Was very peaceful prior. I had a rough lumber cabin. We raised 100 chickens and a few Turkey. I am moving back and try to re-setup on a different area on property.
When they pass, there goes that beautiful farm. Hopefully someone takes over and cares and loves it
America's history right there spreaking. Thank you two for sharing our/ your rich American history. Last of my elders have gone. Now it's up to us to share vocally our traditions and true history. Stay strong. Hold on to your land and heritage. We across the nation support our ranchers and farmers. The news just doesn't let you know that.

I could sit and listen to these two talk for days ! What a true American treasure they are. Thank you for sharing.
What an incredible family. I was smiling through the entire interview. This generation was the best and the smartest!! Love these two
My grandpa was born in 1899. He died in 1980 after seeing me graduate in 1979. He told me about the trains planes and automobiles. He used to put windshields and model T’s. He said they put them in with rubber mallets. He had to be very careful putting them in, because they were told if they broke more than one window they were fired. My grandfather was 42 and my grandmother was 17 in 1941 when they got married. Most of his relatives had dairy farms in upstate New York. They raised hundreds of head of milk cows. In the summertime they would take my mother out to their farms and she would spend the summer with them learning how to pick vegetables out of the gardens and how to can them. She also said that she actually turned butter in an old-fashioned butter churn. My mom said she would sit out on the porch and take turns with her aunt churning butter. She said when she was really young, she remembers using an outhouse and she said that they had well water to drink.
