100-year-old pole vaulter Don Pellmann sets records
Спорт
Don Pellmann of Santa Clara, California, makes three attempts at becoming the first 100-year-old to clear a height in the pole vault. At the San Diego Senior Olympics on Sept. 20, 2015, he sets age-group world records in the long jump and high jump - and extends the world record in the discus with each of his three throws. His world records in the 100-meter dash and shot put are in another video from the meet at San Diego Mesa College. For details, see Times of San Diego: timesofsandiego.com/sports/201...

You're the kid that gives respect to a guy for walking down the street, another guy that scratches right behind his ear for an itch and you have the utmost of respect and reverence to a man who once sneezed into his elbow. Moral of the story? Your respect is worth less than a dried up dog shit stain on the lawn.

So amazing. Sooo much respect for this guy, he does better than me at my track meets XD I've always had a soft spot for elders, I would be absolutely honored to meet this guy. All the rude commenters are most likely to die before 85 from a heart attack and here he is at 100, doing all this amazing stuff...

If the standards were at like 27 or 30 he would have made it!!! 35 was way to far into the pit.
this is really wholesome

fountain of youth he did find.
Never say die Do not go gentle into that good night rage rage the dying of the light.
The landing bed is ridiculous even if you cross because of slop you will fall back v bad arrnagment and great old young man hard off to him
I remember a young woman running an Iron man competition shat her knickers during a TV coverage. At least old Don kept his poop in. I hope I can still talk sense in the next few years, and I'm only 67.

Surly this is incredibly dangerous at his age
I swear he can do better than me
This is crazy. Someone can get seriously injured.hahaha
Did he pick it up when he was like 95 or something? He doesn't carry the pole or approach the crossbar as an experienced vaulter. I'm a coach and i just don't understand what's going on?

thats just wrong...,,,hes 100 Wow ! I'm almost 60 in 2019 I was born in 1959....,,,, The last time I took a pork at trying to pole vault was last Summer , or this last summer...,,,The Old dude is cool ...,,,THERE Jacking e'm up adjusting his Standards & stuff & hes just chilling.... The ll other previous coment where correct...Standards at 25 , or 30 & a pit thats not a CoL or University pit to high.& he would of clear ed nicely shoot....,,Azusa Pacific Univ had a Amf pit.. such a pit in the laat 5 , 7 yrs its probably deteriorating as I write this , it was much lover to the ground...not as high as a Pacer Co. or U.c.s. Co pit...,,, thing with that Amf one front Tees where way to short ,compared to Pacer or Ucs... I was Coaching a Gcc Glendale CoL CA., young woman Asian Filipina , I had her in High School for a Little bit at John Marshall H. s.of LosFelez...,,,There was another Coach there a John Arbogast .,he would move her step around & mess with her Standards...So I would have to fix everything every week...Same at The Brian Clay meet..there was Coach Tommis a 400m runner went to 1 of SkyJumpers Camps So I guess he was an expert at Pole Vaulting & 1 Guy I Coached yrs past Who was also sapposed to be assisting me with the pole vaulters...,,,The 2 Tommis & Gio told the Girl to Go for it on a 14'00-135 Ucs I purchased from Co-RON at ON.TRACK in Burbank CA , the POLE threw her back on the runway & 1 of her knees got scuffed up on the the front where the front buns or T.pits should of been covering the exsposed cement or what not....,,,same 100 yrs old Dawn not enough run or pole speed & funky ass pit..,,, Awesome though Mr.D...,,, iIL try to keep jumping , see what happens...I'm 58 now , i'lL be 59 in January : )))
