    I have an AT2020 and since I’ve gone on to but far expensive mics but if anyone is reading this - please invest on your skills and not mic haha. At2020 can win you Grammy.

    the thing is my AT2020 are not like that he used the same vocals presets without changing nothink so thats why it sound bright , if he toke his time to make is sound better it will be the same or even better than the 1000$ mic , i love this mic is the beat investment in my home studio so far.

    The thing is, whatever the shortcomings of the $100 mic are. You can easily fix em with the smallest amount of processing to make it sound as good, or even better.

    That’s just not true. You might be able to mimic the tonality of a U87 but you can’t make a 100$ mic have a balanced frequency response or have clarity which 100$ mic just won’t possess.

    ​​​@@arshadmohamed6330Actually he is wrong. Not because you can make up for quality witn eq, but because quality of a mic is not always proportional to its price. My 250$ Oktava is as good as most 1000$ mics out there. And there are many trash 1000$ mics.

    The at2020 is a bit harsh at the top (a big bit lol), the other mic is smoother, but with the compression of youtube and people who dont have ears, there is no difference, buy the mic that you can afford and master it

    Most people don’t know what to listen for… check out the harshness of the s sounds on the AT. The better mics will fit into a mix with less wrestling. You can make them both work in many cases, but the Lewitt will sound better once you start adding things like parallel compression.

    I feel the AT2020 is brighter, the Lewitt is more balanced especially around 5k.

    listening on my studio monitors. There is a difference, but not day and night. The audio technica sounds a little harsher on the high mids and top end.... wouldn't stop you producing a hit song though

    the treble is more polished on the 1000 mic, and its also a tad fuller sounding.

    More detail for sure where the 100$ mic sounds flat in comparison.. it’s more of a rich feeling that you get from quality mics then inexpensive mics. Would recommend for high tier studio production vs KZread.

    I was in a forum once and a guy posted an at3035 against a nueman u87. Everyone thought the 3035 was the u87 because he just eq'd the high frequency slightly.. many mic enthusiasts were upset but goes to show you don't need the most expensive mic to get great results

    All i mic is, is a oiece of thin metal, its digital now but it was the bits and how its processed that makes it. You could make a 5000$ mic in a week with no knowledge. They just dont want you to figure it out. Or just call the factory in china act like a company looking for a sample, and there you go

    I think that buried in a mix the difference in detail and harmonics is gonna be absolutely nothing, plus the At2020 is one of the best bang for your buck mics out there.

    there are $300 mic that you should have - the $100 one is cheap sounding and crackly.. but you do not need a $1000 mic unless you are a pro artist and you have millions of listeners. Billie Eilish had a hit with the AT 2020.

    A big reason people invest in the more expensive mics are because they tend to be made with higher quality parts and have longevity On top of the fact you can easily get a really good sound on the recording and not have to process as much after the fact. It makes the workflow quicker and for recording engineers time is money

    With THAT MUCH post processing, it's very difficult to judged. Alot of vocalist aren't goinf to be drenching their tracks in this much reverb so this does very little to clue them into how these mics perform on a baseline.
