Looks like the rg405 have a small issue of cycle speed: the animations in many games are too fast even when the frame rate is low. May be some software tweaks could solve that.

Id imagine very slowly unless you enable the skipdraw 15 to remove the depth of field effect and some code hacks to remove the red artifacts in the starting area.

I returned the 552 and got the 505 with gamma OS it works ok, I wish you played Black on the rg405, I think is pretty the same with the 505 what you think?

I wonder how the Spyro “a hero’s tale” and “enter the dragonfly” performs?

We have come a long way. I remmeber tge first gen of retro emu handhelds and how they were struggeling with Snes and PS1. Now we are at the verge of emulating PS2 for less than €200/$. I think i am gonna wait another year though. To get flawless PS2 performance while not having to pay a ton of money. Like below 300€. You think that is possible?

@@bigretrostudio Would love to have one but where i live it would cost me €350 and that is way to much for what i am getting. The RG505 will cost me €170 shipped to my house while the RP3+ will cost me around €230 so my best bet is the RG505 but i am still not sure if i should get it or not for PS2. Case in point i only want to play around 70 PS2 titles and not everything so i dont know.

Odin 2 for 300$ runs basically flawless GC and PS2. Also this month the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is releasing for 200$. Should also run almost perfect GC/PS2.

I had only changed these settings: Normal Fps increased to 130fps or 150fps, depending on the game. If that doesn't do any good, then Turn off enable frame limit. Other 2 settings Changed in graphics section: Turn on hot vsync Turn on threaded presentation Apart from that, I haven't changed anything else.

It came with less than 10 PS2 games! 😄 From that list, only good game was GOW2

​@@firedragon757b5I think Aether 2 has stopped development. But with sufficient hardware it definitely runs very well. The Odin 2 for 300$ can emulate both GC and PS2 flawlessly. Also, the upcoming RP4P for 200$ shouldn't have many problems running PS2.

No worries, I use AetherSX2, which it came with, under settings, go to the "system" category, then just play with the normal speed on speed control in fps category(you can try increasing normal speed upto 130 to 140fps) , if not just turn the enable frame limit off. Then turn go to "graphics" category and turn on hot vsync and turn on threaded presentation. It should do the trick. Let me know how it goes 😌

Hell ya man I was gonna ask the same thing

I do enjoying checking these videos and thank you for the upload... but this is also why I don't always trust community spreadsheets, and wish you'd show the frame rate counter. As "playable" to one person, may not be to another. Burnout 3 for example looks to be running at half speed, Revenge is full speed but lots of dips, and trust me if you played Katamari past the 2nd or 3rd level you'd see it goes to complete trash.

Thanks for your comment :) I agree with you about what you mentioned about playable. It does depend on your tolerance level. Mine is pretty high because I grew up with a less powerful graphic card PC at the time, so even if it had a slight lag, I used to play it and finish the game. I've heard people saying the same for katamari games, especially for 2nd and 3rd levels. I need to check it out :D

Do the games come included with cheats or is there a way to load cheats into the game.

I'v tested some of these games on the other handhelds with the same t618 chip, you will have to watch my gameplay testing videos to find out. Whatever I played is mentioned in the timeline, you will have to watch it and find out, I don't keep a track on each and every game's playability. It's mentioned in the video I tested.

set the gpu renderer to Vulcan. On system settings, depending on the game, set ee cycle rate to 50% and ee cycle skip to maximum underclock(in some games not needed, leave it as it is). Then, play with frame limiter in system settings. You can increase the normal speed to 130 or 140 depending on the game or turn the enable frame limit off to get max speed. Hope it helps.

If you have the rom, you just have to put it in the ps2 folder in your sd card.

its not smooth like we got from the phone that has a Helio G99 chipset much better buy a phone and Bluetooth controller at the same time and not cost a lot

Shadow of colossus won't actually work well on a t618 handheld, no matter how much you tweak. Check out my rg405v ps2 testing video. Iv mentioned Mt settings in the comments section.

I haven't installed GammaOS myself but based on what you have shown here, most of the PS2 games become unplayable. For example with stock OS, Shinobi runs flawlessly at 60fps and Burn Out Revenge plays so much smoother without frame skips (I leave it at zero). Most of the PAL games in my device run at a stable 50 fps after some tweaking. Truth is GammaOS was designed by the dev to run Nintendo emulator games better. PS2 emulation performance takes a DEEP dive.

@@bigretrostudio My bad, I got confused with the Gamma OS video when I posted my comment. If this was how the stock OS performed back in April when you made the video, then it means that its updated version (Build 1.19) has made tremendous enhancements when it comes to PS2 emulation and I dare say it's better than GammaOS. As to installing the GammaOS on my device, that's unnecessary as I can always look up videos on KZread and compare (which is precisely why I ended up watching yours).

I uploaded PS2 game test for KT-R1 recently, I have tested Def jam in that video. Please check it out.

i dont get why this ps2 games is having a hard time being played on a subtantially better hardware than the ps2

The chipset is not powerful enough.
