King Sejong
The great king who designed Chosun. We discover more about his philosophies related to the significant designs for his nation, through 3 people who were close to him - two of his retainers Hwang Hee and Huh Jo, and Princess Jeong-eui.
Sadness, devotion and courage were the 3 keywords found in King Sejong's designs, which are passed down through cultural heritages such as Hangul. King Sejong was truly a great king to be respected throughout Korean history.

Just good 왕?ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ He lived early of 15c but his mind is modern.
King Sejong was very progressive and had a devotion for his people. Very inspiring!
12:24 this is immediately one of the best videos I've ever seen; which begs the question : in an age that pays lip service to democracy, would we rather live within the rule of a Just and Inspired King, or within the rule of a corrupt republic?

King Sejong The Great (15 May 1397 - 8 April 1450) was the fourth king of the Joseon dynasty of Korea. He was the third son of King Taejongand Queen consort Min.Sejong reinforced Confucian policies and executed major "legal amendments" He also personally created and promulgated the Korean alphabet Hangul encouraged advancements of scientific technology, and instituted many other efforts to stabilize and improve prosperity. He dispatched military campaigns to the north To the south, he subjugated Japanese pirates and captured Tsushima Island (also known as Daema Island in the Korean language).

IF WHAT HE DID FOR HIS PEOPLE AND HIS FAME, THIS KING MUST REALLY BE CRYING TEARS OF SADNESS FOR THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE BECOME PART OF A DEVIDED COUNTRY AND A LEADER THAT HAS NO REGARD FOR HIS PEOPLE. THIS IS A GOOD KING THAT WANTED HIS COUNTRY TO SURVIVE WITH THE MORALS AND RULES HE PUT IN A BOOK FOR THEM ALL TO FOLLOW. SAD ISN'T IT.

Such an amazing benevolent king who supported great scientist like Jang Yeong Sil. I admire his 4th son, Sejo of Joseon. At times, you can’t show mercy to your enemies.

우리 한국의 왕 세종께서 살아 남은 일입니다!! 이 일로 세종의 외숙 2분께서 죽었습니다!
영의정 황희의 아들 황수신과 허조의 아들 허후는 나중에 세조 편에 붙습니다. 여기서 허후는 당시 영의정 황보인을 효수하느냐에 관련한 논의 도중 눈물을 흘렸단 죄로 세조에게 죽습니다.
정승 황희에 보수주의자 허조까지... 허조가 저기서 나올 줄은 상상도 못함.
세종 본인 과는 무관하게 정치 적 희생 이였던것 입니다!!

I dont know if I m right to say that, but I have certain impression that if Korea had kept her monarchic system maybe relations between Japan and Korea could be better considering the fact that Korean under presidential system the corruption rate is higher and those who had power loves to use Japan as a way to divert their people from domestic issues.

Please tell me more of your source. Second, you think Japan isn't corrupt at all? Well, I got news for you.Is Japan sometimes used to diver attention from some domestic issues? Yes. Nobody is denying that. However, does that mean none of the complaints and greivances are legitimate? That there is no problem in how Japan acts towards Korea, China and former occupied countries during WW2? You are delusional if you think that Japan is just used as scapegoat all the time. The fundamental problem lies in Japan. Try to learn a little bit of how you should act from Germany.
