Ondol
The Korean traditional floor heating system "ondol" dates back to the Gogureo era. It originated in cold northern regions and spread to all southern areas during the Joseon period. It still remains the indispensable part of Koreans' everyday lives. That's why many idioms in Korean are about the heated floor "ondol" or "gudeuljang."
The narrator of the show is a young man who is a fan of "ondol." He tells about his nostalgia for "ondol" and its role in his mother's love for him. The narrator also introduces the structure of "ondol" and how fire in a fireplace can heat the entire house.
온돌
우리 고유의 난방시스템 온돌은 이미 고구려시대부터 시작되었음은 널리 알려진 사실이다. 추운 북쪽 지방에서 시작되어 조선시대 남쪽지방까지 완전히 전파된 온돌은 지금까지도 한국인의 일상과 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있다. 따라서 '구들장 귀신' '구들장이 꺼지도록' '구들장을 지다' 등 '온돌, 특히 구들장'이 들어간 많은 표현들이 있다.
특히 '구들장 귀신'이란 재미있는 표현을 빌어 한 청년의 구들장 사랑을 독백형식의 내래이션으로 풀어간다. 또 온돌을 통한 어머니의 정성과 전통온돌에 대한 그리움을 소개하고, 온돌이 어떻게 만들어지며, 아궁이 한 곳에서 땐 불이 어떻게 넓은 방 전체를 덥히는지 등에 대한 구조와 원리 등을 소개한다.

Floors of homes in 1963 Uijeongbu were heated this way but they used coal or charcoal. I remember the coal /charcoal was compressed into round gallon or larger sizes with holes running from bottom to top.

어릴때 이 구들장에서 자랐는데 지금의 아이들은 구들장을 잘 모르고 자란다 생각해 보면 옛날 선조들이 참 지혜로우셨다 구들장 덕분에 옛날 사람들은 암이나 이런 것들이 지금처럼 많지는 안했던것 같다.

எவ்விதச் சூழ்நிலையையும் எதிர்கொண்டு வெற்றியடைபவன்தானே மனிதன்! மனிதனின் ஆறாவது அறிவால் அவன் அனைத்தையும் வெல்லும் வல்லமை படைத்தவனாகிறான்! ஆதலால்தான் இன்று மனித இனம் தொழில்நுட்பத்தின் உச்சத்தில் உள்ளது. முதுமையில்லாத, இறப்பினைத் தவிர்த்து என்றென்றும் இளைமையுடன் வாழ்வதுகுறித்து ஆராய்ந்தும் வருகிறது மனித சமுதாயம்!
