In this vlog, I have spent almost a week living in a rural village with a traditional Japanese family. Join me in my captivating journey with @WalidsJourney as we step back in time and immerse ourselves in the serene beauty of a traditional Japanese village! We spent four unforgettable days with Mayumi and Jiro in discovering the rich culture, captivating history, and breathtaking landscapes that this hidden gem has to offer. From experiencing the Japanese onsen for the first time to being creative with lacquerware, this 4-day escapade truly was an unforgettable experience.

I love that Harry always gets to delve into the local culture and experience how the locals live! The secret of Japanese longevity is indeed related to their living habits and food culture! It is very interesting that the way Japenese make mochi is exactly the same as the aborigines in Taiwan! I don’t expect that Harry had such a great figure and is also a muscular man. No wonder he is good at splitting, haha! Making your own lacquer bowl is sure to be a lifelong memory, Harry's dolphins are so beautiful, my vote goes to Harry! Harry’s videos are always great regardless of the themes, content, or editing. Thank you very much for sharing! 👍🥰🙏

The way you get yourself indulged in the local values n traditions is worth mentioning Harry! The rice cakes seemed fabulous. I was wondering how you struggle with the native languages in different countries. Japanese live a pure n natural life. Love them❤ Thank you Harry for putting up your best efforts, always love it 🎉❤

I enjoyed your video of your time in Japan! I had some similar experiences when I went there myself. I noticed toward the end of your video (25:36) that you were in Sabae City (鯖江市)! When I was living/studying in Japan, I was living in Fukui City (福井市), the city just north of Sabae!! I *LOVED* LIVING THERE ! ! ! Anyway, THANK YOU for this video, as well as your other videos, which I intend to watch! :)
Thank you, Harry. Your videos showing the Japanese culture are so interesting. The way they respect their elderly and their community and environment is superlative. I wish we had something like that in our westen culture.
Always good a vid from you and some foood some weeed
Bro one of my favorite video to know more about Japanese culture. Thank you keep it up bro. 👏🙌
What a wonderful video.. !! thanks Harry .......the older guy is telling us Westerners living for yourself is not the way it was planned, we must live more for community than being greedy and selfish

Always loved the Japanese culture. Watching the last samurai gave me a peaked interest. But after watching this I will definitely be booking a holiday there soon. The philosophy of finding balance within those 4 ideals is in my opinion perfection. What a beautiful video. Fair play Harry.
We welcome you to South Sudan 🙏
Harry, i love this! This is exactly what i wanted to see in a Japanese vlog. I remember suggesting this to Jack Torr before when he posted his Japan series - to go to a place or village and feature the unique practices, lifestyle, industry, etc. in that area... Gotta love Japan. ❤🎎 And btw Harry, we have hot springs here too. When you come back, go explore Los Baños in Laguna. It's our hot springs capital. Lots of beautiful hot springs resorts there, with a view of the beautiful Mt. Makiling. It's only 2-4 hours from Manila. And they have crystal clear waterfalls there too like Taytay Falls. :)

We can understand Japanese culture when we learn about the unique spirituality that the Japanese have developed since ancient times. I suggest you read Tenshin Okakura's "The Book of Tea," published in 1906, and Inazo Nitobe's "Bushido : The Soul of Japan," published in 1899. The original texts of both books were written in English, and they are great books that you can't miss if you want to learn about Japanese culture and the spirituality of the Japanese people. However, I am sorry if I have already read both books because they are the most famous books on Japanese culture in the world.

It's funny that ikigai is somehow very related to Nietzsche's idea of power, the power of overcoming suffering and struggles or essentially in being effective in facing them. Happiness is just an offset of being able to overcome suffering and ikigai's principle shows that for you to be happy you'd have to do the 4 principles.
