Tom, I have that same snap ring plier with the driver handle. Got it back in the early 80's. Its a K&D though. Yours is in MUCH nicer condition though. On that bent SK driver, have a look at my video on bench grinder shaft straightening. If you make up a set off lock on collets to contain the section that you want to straighten, you can do it easily without messing anything up.. Keep these tool junkie vids coming.. I need my fix. The Craftsman 45488 Combination Snap Ring Pliers, came with 9 Sets of Points. I like the SK multibit screwdriver. I saw a used Vintage Craftsman 45394 pipe wrench pliers on ebay for $33.00; a great buy for what you paid. New Channellock 426 pliers sell for $18.00; yours is in good shape. The long multi-bended wrench is a distributor wrench for adjusting ignition timing. The Benzomatic propane tourch is an excellent addition to your tools; I was surprised how many times I have used it during that past 19 years. The two full length Craftsman saws were manufactured by Disston. A used 20" Disston #240 handsaw sells for $44.00, if in great condition.

I think I can explain the benefit of that particular snap ring tool. Usually they are built like pliers with spring tension in One direction. There's a couple different mechanisms for switching between internal and external, but almost all of them are pretty fussy. I've never seen this particular tool but the benefit was immediately obvious. While it still has interchangeable tips to be lost, because it's a screwdrive, it will stay still at any position. We all know what a bitch snap rings are, the most common problem I have is when the pliers suddenly decide to slip joint from external to internal or vice versa. These can stop anywhere along the line so the user doesn't need to adjust them to set them for internal or external. The amount of control this would give you would be extremely helpful. You wouldn't need to compress or stretch any snap ring enough for it to fly across the room, only enough to get it out of the groove. I think this is likely a very handy tool

Nice haul Tom. Those older Channellocks are better IMO because of the bolt and nut holding them together. All the newer styles are riveted. Small right angle wrench is a bleeder screw wrench. The unusual Craftsman snap ring tool is definitely a favorite even though i doubt It would ever see much use. As far as something more usable I might go with the extension all the way through Craftsman Spinners, those look like some Work Horses..........Channellock with the nut instead of the rivet, you know they're somewhat old anyways............Looking just now the rivet patent was applied for in 1982, can't say for sure when all their pliers switched over but I imagine it wasn't long after.

I just picked up that same exact Stanley short cut saw from Goodwill a few weeks back in NOS condition and I quite like it. An almost identical saw was being made for ACE hardware up until recently, or might still be made. I bought one a couple years ago from the local Ace and use it quite a lot, made in the US and I always assumed by great neck but maybe Stanley still at least semi makes some saws here in the US ?

I have used that very electric etcher and I have used the $1,700 proxon version and a handful of no names. I think everyone works identically well; not at all. I guess it's fine if you absolutely must have shaky initials in your tools, but if you carve a bearing number around a pocket for example, it will not be legible in just a few months even if it is initially which is rare. In fairness, I'm not much for dexterity either way
