Only a few minutes after catching this Shiny Ponyta I ran into a Shiny Shinx. Then about a half hour later I found a Shiny Zubat. That was fun.

I saw this video on my recommended after catching a shiny Ponyta. At first, I thought, "Oh, so my shiny Ponyta that I just caught was not that special because it is a guaranteed quest Pokemon", then when he said it had to be activated by a cutscene, which my freshly caught Ponyta did not trigger one, I realized that I did not even finish this quest and actually caught a wild shiny Ponyta, not the guaranteed one! I now have two blue-maned ponies in my pasture :)

Yeah I’ve always wanted pokeballs that color. All 3 of them are fantastically designed. Even the heavy ball is great. I’ve always wanted an all black one. Dusk ball is great but the green on it makes it really only match zygarde perfectly… (there are a couple others, but not many). I like matching the ball color with my Pokémon color. Especially for shinies. So this is fantastic. I just wish there were more…

This game is just so much fun! I feel like i can play 5h not even doing anything special/any mission, just explore and fully enjoy and those 5h feel so short…im absolutely enjoying this game!!! Btw, since like forever: best pokemon/nintendo content youtuber imo, keep up the great quality content, love from Austria (no kangaroos lmao)

I like how it makes you catch the Ponyta instead of just giving it to you. Yeah, it’s impossible to fail, but it still feels like the type of thing a lot of kids will feel accomplished for.

Just to confirm, you 100% have to register Ponyta in your Pokédex. The mission won’t appear on the board if you don’t get it first.

1.) get the shiny ponyta quest. If u want a certain nature 2.) save before entering map 3.) repeat til u get the nature u want, remember to not save at map. All pokemon are nature locked each time u start a new map

You can plant mints at the farm that change your pokemon's natures. Get 3 randoms, but eventually you'll get the nature you want and can give to any pokemon.

I just think it was a MUCH needed tutorial put into the game. I know I was very worried I wouldn't see/hear the "sparkle", but the game actually showing you what it sounds/looks like. Very well done.

This is also true for other quests where you have to like “clear” an alpha or something. Like there was a machoke for example I think it was. If you accidentally knock it out it’ll respawn immediately. Also, there were more guaranteed shinies. Like dratini. But they’re definitely rare. And this is one of the easiest, gyarados being the only easier one I can think of.

I would put this one the easiest just because of level and early game. The only issue is ponta evolves at level 40. There’s a few others but for sure agree that these two are the easier

@@stevensteven9657 I don’t mean easiest as in easiest to catch, I mean easiest to unlock. Gyarados is part of the main story and it’s mandatory to battle it. And other shinies require a lot of stuff in order to get to. But this one’s definitely easy to reach as well

But now I have white 1&2, so I’m playing through them. And will eventually get dratini. Which will be my first shiny of that evolution line! Haxorus I am not bothering with lol. Not worth the struggle for me

You told us in the first video to do the side quests, I have been doing the side quests, but now I'm excited to do the side quests! One of my favorite Shines of all time! 😁

After the Ponyta, found and caught a shiny Happiny by accident when chucking the feather balls at a bunch had appeared. I felt kind of dirty spawn camping them but it was super fun.

Overworld shinies are so great to have again, even before the shiny charm just knowing immediately if a shiny is present instead of having to enter battle every time adds a nice illusion of more frequent shinies. Another feature I hope can persist in as many games as applicable

When I first started this game I encountered a shiny alpha rapidash. To my dismay, it was uncatchable since it was in the very beginning of the game. Just finished this quest today and now I feel a little better about it!

You actually can catch alphas early as long as you're in a battle, the first thing I did was catch Rapidash and Snorlax and it worked after many reloads and wipes.

Hey A.J. i found 2 cool tricks in Legends Arceus. 1, you can avoid battling the shaking tumblestones but still get the loot if you throw pokemon out at max distance and after they pop out back away farther. 2, you can climb up hills you shouldnt be able to if you can lock onto a pokemon at the top.

I was doing this quest and before the cutscene I found a shiny ponyta and I was like "ok that's the free shiny" and then I realized that the quest was not completed and then I found the free shiny so now I have 2 shiny ponytas xD

There was a ponyta mass outbreak and I went to look if I could get a second shiny one… instead I found a shiny alpha rapidash. Loving your videos on this game as always :)

My first shiny in this game was Kricketot. I must have to catch Ponyta to get this side quest... since I never got it, lol. Thanks for the video.

Regarding the free shiny red gyrados and haxorus from previous games that austin mentioned, theres also a gible / dratini depending on your game version in BW2 from completing the white tree i think its called. There might be more shinies but I vividly remember this one and thought I’d mention it.

I got my first shiny while doing this quest. I managed to come across a shiny starly while heading toward the ponyta.

It's great to see that they brought back Rapidash's original purple shiny coloring.

Haven’t even gone to coronet highlands yet and I received my first three agonies. This Ponyta, an outbreak Togepi, and a time-space Skuntank. Forgot to save for the Skuntank as I was running away from several Pokémon trying to murder me.

I followed your turn off autosave then save tip before trying to catch this shiny. Thank god I did because it ran away and disappeared. Reloaded the game and caught it.

This ponyta was my first (and so far only) shiny. ...currently sitting at Rank Five and only have two zones unlocked because I love all the exploration and just stumbling upon things (a little annoyed about the fact that the level 12 geodude and paras still agro and that they're all over the place, I'll admit).

Completed this mission and then not even 30 mins later I found a full odds shiny mime Jr, two shinies in a short while that was cool

I've nearly finished the third area and hadn't gotten this. Went to do all the requests I could, caught a ponyta and then this finally showed up. Was so happy 😂

Will there possibly be a video on the Mass Outbreaks? I've been having trouble handling them, especially with some of the more aggressive Pokemon. I've heard they are good for shiny hunting, but they keep attacking so soon even when I'm hiding in the grass.

It's funny because when I first started playing I already had some knowledge as to the fact there was a shiny ponyta quest so when I found one st the start of my plsythrough I assumed it was part of the quest. You could guess the amount of surprise I was in when I found out it was a full odds haha

Can confirm that you need to have Ponyta registered in your dex. Mom is also playing and I couldnt figure out why she wasnt getting the quest, she got a ponyta and then the quest popped

I read the description for this task and thought "there's no way it's a shiny. does it mean the alpha rapidash??" (since the NPCs don't know pokemon well). I didn't want to get my hopes up; so I was really excited when it was, in fact, a shiny!

In addition to the shiny haxorus in black2/white2, there’s also a guaranteed shiny dratini or shiny gable in BW2 depending on what version you have.

Tysm for this, I scared it off bc I'm and idiot and I thought it was lost forever. Gonna have to try to find that spot again and get my shiny

All the quests involving certain pokemon have a research task in the dex iirc, so you probably do need a ponyta first.
