This keeps getting repeated. I have actually read the original article by the psychologist besides the articles written about it and tiktok shorts. The psychologist stated that in No Country for Old Men was a very realistic representation of a TYPE of psychopaths. This type was a primary prototypical psychopath. I am not studied in psychology but I think this means that Chigur is a good representation of someone with genetic disposition for psychopathy, exhibits overt narcissism and a high score on the psychopathy checklist.The psychologist compares Chighur to real life hitman Richard Kuklinski in a passing comment. Nowhere is it however stated that he is the most realistic depiction of psychopaths in general. The psychologist also mentioned Gordon Gekko from the movie Wall Street as an realistic example of a nonviolent psychopath. Gekko is described as a primary manipulative type of pychopath. This means that Gekko is similar Chighur in how his psychopathy shows in his affect and interpersonal relationships. Gekko however differs in that his lifestyle is not that of a classic psychopath unlike Chigur who is a career criminal. The psychologist compares Gekko in passing to Bernie Maddof who is number 10 on this Watchmojo video. PS:I am not studied in psychology so I am just repeating what I am getting from the article.

I worked in mental health for 40+ years and 'met' both in my professional capacity but always recall the words from an elderly psychiatrist when I was a younger fellow during my training. He said he didn't know what was wrong with the term "a nasty bastard with no end to their selfishness". Fair enough.

Susan Smith killing her children blaming it on a black man who supposedly car jacked her then confess she was having an affair with someone who didn’t want kids. She would fake crying and not shed a tear. I knew right off the bat she did it.

I was expecting the list to be full of killers. To my disappointment most spots on this list consisted of non violent scam artist. Richard Ramirez could have easily made this list. BTK could have easily made this list. Jeffery Dahmer could have easily made this list. But we got some non violent con artist that are somehow "worse" or "on par" with actual serial killers and a woman who made attempts on her kids lives and succeeded in killing one of them.

my cousin used to babysit Diane Downs's kids back in the day. I still remember watching our local new about her. it's kinda crazy that she would do that to her own kids. that happened in the Eugene/Springfield area of Oregon in case anyone wanted to know.

I remember reading about Diane Downs....so sad. What mother does that for a guy? I'm glad the prosecutor and his wife ended up adopting the two surviving kids.

I remember watching that with my grandpa - particularly, and my grandma when I would stay with them. And, that's a documentary I've watched only a few times...there's a lot of tense moments, especially when they're preparing to escape when the late governor Leo Ryan arrived to help get whoever they could, out...and from that point on. But, with murdering those misled, but poor people, it almost breaks me upon hearing the children and babies cry and beg to not drink that "Flavor-Aid" or get it injected...

Even though people have done the most terrible things and are described as a psychopath we still have to remember that they are all still human beings

I've always have a difficult time distinguishing the difference between sociopath and psychopath, both share the lack of emotions for others, and the inability to process the understanding of others emotions. Both use manipulation and verbal control over others, but I guess a psychopath will tend to enjoy sexual control and the sadistic drive to inflict pain both physical and mental

This is not a video about sociopaths. It's about con artists and murderers. The people in this video are not all sociopaths. Sociopath has a specific meaning. It does not apply to psychopaths, or narcissists or people who just have low moral standards.

As with many, if not all serial killers, Dorothea Puente had a horrible upbringing. This led to her inability to feel empathy or compassion, including for her own children. She had several and did not raise a single one of them. All of them have been taken away from her. She had no motherly instincts probably because she never got it from her own mother.

I have the impression some of these people are psychopaths rather than sociopaths. From what little I know, psychopaths are born like this while sociopaths are nurtured due to traumatic childhood events. Because of that, psychopaths are usually colder and more organized. A psychopath also doesn't need to kill, it's not a requirement to be violent. What they have to be is manipulative and completely lacking in empathy. Bernie Madoff and Ted Bundy seem good examples, one being non-violent and the other extremely. Charles Manson seems more of a sociopath than a psychopath, though. Can someone please clarify this for me?

I was waiting for you to get to the serial killers, but there were a lot left out. IMO the money fraudsters are chump change compared to serial killers.
