    One of the creepiest moments in the game is when the children at the crossroads start singing Gaunter O'Dimm's theme.

    There's one thing that mostly creepy about it is inside the tower, when youre about to go to the 2nd floor. There is a ghost or monster watching you. You cannot see it unless you use that screen thingy where your camera is not pointed on Geralt

    The one time this game gave me true chills is when you go see the blind professor who had been studying Gaunter O’Dimm. When you read about the psychological torture the poor guy was put through... and then blowing all the candles out of the pentagram on the floor.. Man.

    Good call. I think that was the only time I was truly spooked in the whole game, seeing a guy who found out too much become trapped in his own home and terrorized. That's when you know Geralt is in some deep sh- - (and Geralt realizes it too).

    That was my most favorite spooky area and second to that is the Crookback Bog... Just because they showed that so many times in the demo gameplay and I watched it too many times... I knew who lived there... The Crones and the way they were presented in game was truly terrifying... I mean there are numerous occasions where you can't fight a character because the game simply won't allow it due to programming restrictions but the Crones story is so different in this regard... That till HOS came out and Gaunter O Dimm became the most powerful and ancient entity in Witcher universe...

    That place, from Tower full of mice and the von Everec estate should have been top 2 on this list, but no, number 2 is just damn Crow's Perch. The most scary thing about that thing is the bridge Roach never knows how to cross without crying in fear. The list wasn't bad or anything, but really? Baron's castle? side note: It would have been nice if Falcon mentions that the beggar from number 7 is Gaunter O'Dimm

    @crsor4 what’s funny is you posted this 5 months after I posted that and I just started finally playing RDR2 5 days ago. Lol. I’ll admit, it’s an amazing game. I mean especially enhanced and 4K and after an hour to get the HDR right...it is stunning sometimes. However it’s a whole different thing than a fantasy game. I still think W3 is the best, but I definitely can’t knock this game. Albeit only 25% of the way through, but yeah I definitely still stand by this, sadly even after getting Cyberpunk 2077. The W3 drinking game scene alone gives it the win for me, lol. “Let’s dress up like women and confuse them.” That prank call was the funniest. Or tripping on acid with Roach. 1,000+ hours in that game. Made a ton of videos, found a ton of stuff. Hard to think of anything being better, but I def see the quality in RDR2 & a bunch of games really. Named my horse Roach in RDR2, lol. I think Ghost of Tsushima, especially with that Legends mode is also a top contender. (Sorry for the long reply, I have covid, am trapped in the house, and extremely bored, lol)

  • @RevanJJ

    @RevanJJ

    3 жыл бұрын

    @crsor4 thats very true. I haven’t lost a single gun fight. Even if shot, I can drink a potion which sort of throws me out of the extremely realistic way they made the game. It’s still quite beautiful to look and enjoy, but I agree that it’s not as immersive as W3 or even GoT (Tsushima where you have to have the proper stance for each foe, timing, etc) or W3 where you also have to swing at the right time and release the right magic as well as take potions. Still having a lot of fun with it. Beautiful game, but after I beat the campaign and side stories, I don’t see myself becoming addicted like in the other two unmentioned. Heck, I even got addicted to the patched and now amazing Days Gone. Hellblade is sitting there. I love most games as long as they aren’t too buggy. Just got to a house in RDR2 where a brother and sister...ugh. Then they took all my stuff. Of course I hog tied her, ran to the railroad tracks with him chasing me. Waited till a train was in sight, put her down, went to the other side and watched him try to untie her...splat, lol

    @@gamingjunkie707 I can agree with that for sure. Especially as I have now almost completed RDR2 finally. It’s absolutely amazing. Definitely both have to be considered the best of the best so far. I spent so many hours covering literally every inch of W3 and finding every Easter egg & secret missions. Made videos of them. Even mastered every armor and found where to get the rare stuff in the videos. Doing the same with RDR2. Except I’m not making videos anymore.

    One of the creepiest for me was a side quest that seems to hint at an old man who fought Ciri in the books. At first sight, harmless and weak forest hermit. Later she got to know the horror of his nature. There is an optional side quest in HoS, a small depopulated village in the east, if I remember correctly. For what reason is Geralt there, I can't remember, but what I do remember is the reason why the village is in lack of villagers. Only an old pair inhabits it. They seem weird and suspicious at first. Since I couldn't trust their behaviour, I investigated a bit and found out what they keep in the basement. Meat. And lots of it. Upon closer look, organs and bones start to resemble a species that once might lived in the village. The contrast between appearance and manners of the perpetrators and their crimes is the unexpected element that always seems to be the most scariest to me.

There's tons of amazing games, but the amount of stuff The Witcher offers is just insane. There's never a dull moment, never a scene that feels repetitive, the world isn't the biggest in area, but it's a million times more massive than all others.. Looking from above you can see the map isn't that big.. but while playing the game, it just feels like an entire world and you get to experience all of it through the witcher's eyes and ughhhh I'm gonna play it again now..... it's been like 4 years and I've -fortunately- already forgotten more than half the stuff. If the player looks around through various objects in the vault, they'll find a *spoiler* inside a cryogenic storage case. I got some vibes right off the bat from him, but once the expansion hit and he "saves" you, I basically said "goddammit, I made a deal with the Devil." It only got worse from there. One thing you forgot to mention in Crookbag Bog is that the orphanage ran there as a “farm” for the crones to raise the kids and eat them with soup Also worth mentioning the quest (a tower full of mice) it’s so creepy it deserves a mention on the list, also Orianna’s orphanage and its secret, the twisted take on the classical magic world in (blood and wine)

    During crookback bog missions, the thing that really got me in my 2nd walkthrough was that if you haven't progressed enough in the story and you go in the middle of jungle and close to that creature which was located under a big tree, out of noooowhere he calls out to you and tell you to stay away. That really freaked me out.

    If you do some explorin in the southwest of Velen, you'll encounter a pack of cannibals living. You'll see people getting prepared to be cooked, gettting cooked. A grotesque sighting. Although it's not a quest, but Geralt has some few lines there. Worth to check it out if you up some cannibals killing.
