@@TheTechCircuit Beginning at auto-dry, @3:58, roughly speaking, with the hi-limit switch open, is the heating element at the same time drawing current and heating?

No. The heating element is only 10 ohms, whereas the dropping resistor and timer together have a resistance (impedance) of about 9000 ohms total (4500 ohms for the timer and 4500 ohms for the resistor). This means about 240V/9000 = 27mA of current (approximate discounting the inductance of the timer motor). So if you have 27mA through a 10 ohm element, you only have 0.27 volts across that element and 7 milliwatts of heat from the it (negligible to non-existent), as opposed to 5760 watts (its normal operating wattage). Thus no heat at all from the element. This is a voltage divider configuration, where in a series circuit with multiple loads, the highest resistance (impedance) gets the most voltage. This fact is probably the most relevant take-away.

Nice video. One thing you didnt mention is when the operating thermostat fails to shut down this causes the 250 volt limit to shut down and the voltage from the Operating thermostat spikes the timer motor and it runs directly to the end of cycle quickly. Subbed -PawPaw

What App did you use to demonstrate on your schematics?
