10 Week Old Cane Corso Puppy ALREADY Heel Trained!

I'm a huge advocate for heel training very early with dogs, especially giant breeds like Cane Corsos. In today's video I show how I'm able to have a 10 week old puppy walking to heel already so I can enjoy walks from an early age. Obviously, there's still a long way to go, but when you have the foundation layer built early on like this you have a much easier task as the dog grows older and gets MUCH bigger!

We have a newly adopted 12 week old cane corso puppy. Over the last week, we have taught her to sit, and stay. She sits when we stop walking (it's natural with her). Loves her crate, but are working on leash manners and she's so great. We love your videos.

I love how you're setting the basic foundation for Mabel now, most people encounter problems as their puppy ages bc they think training is done after teaching the basics. A Cane Corso is not an puppy kindergarten class and done, the Corso needs to always be in training or have a job to do with an engaged and consistent owner. They have a wild stage at about 18 months but that's when reinforcing those basics even harder and not letting them get away with being dominate, rude, or aggressive otherwise you'll have a 100 lbs+ nameless bullet. I love watching Maybel progress into a fine ambassador for the breed🐾❤

I’m so glad you mentioned her intelligence and being able to train a young puppy to heel. My 10 week old mini Dachshund, Georgie, is EXTREMELY intelligent. I used to let him pull me around and do whatever he wanted outside because he’s a puppy. However, I decided to give small correction to keep with me at certain times. He’s caught on beautifully (giving many treats and praise). People look at me crazy though like I’m being to strict with my puppy.

I have been a huge fan of Will here and am THRILLED that I just found this channel. Incredible. We welcomed Gracie Girl, Cane Corso into our family 3 months ago, she is now 19 weeks old. We also have Bruno, Cane Corso who is 5 and a Pomimo Artica, 11 1/2. I can already see that this channel will be invaluable, ESPECIALLY having a very HIGH energy, prey drive, intelligent, stubborn puppy. Bruno was none of those things lol so this is new territory for us. And a challenge. So THANK YOU for this channel and it's awesome we can leave comments! Well done!

I am getting a Cane Corso in mid January. I'm so excited about her coming home with me. I understand you cant crop the ears of Mabel, due to local laws. How ever, it is not illegal where i live. I just wanted to get your feeling on the subject. Breeders say it is necessary to keep down infections. Veterinarians say it is not necessary and cruel. I'm a bit torn on the subject. It seems that breeder clubs recommend it .

Hi,I had a few questions which I would love if you could answer 1)If you could kindly share a video of how to feed your dog correctly. My dog sits and stays and then I say break and he takes the food. However the entire time he is super excited and constantly barking but yes he is sitting.Even when I'm taking his food he is sitting in the corner but still barking constantly and super excited 2.It would be awesome to record a full day of you doing the boot camp each and every thing recorded and the time .The time table would be much more appropriate if we could see exactly what you are doing for simple day to day things and bad habits in real time. This full single day can be added to the bootcamp course. My humble suggestion as even after doing and going through both the puppy course and boot camp course I still am confused about the daily time table, crate training(as stated in the time table). My dog still misbehaves even after trying this for a week but I don't blame him too much as I myself am a little confused about the bootcamp.I did send lot of questions on the site, their answer was get professional help.Ofcourse I know that.Common!!

I am confused a bit about heel work with regards to other socialization. Obviously the puppy should experience all kinds of environments from early on, and obviously it will not walk to heel from the getgo. So how do you walk your dog outside without risking it running away or unintentionally reinforcing that pulling is OK? Plenty of videos about heelwork online, and plenty about socialization but I´m strugling to understand how you combine the two in the beginning? We don´t have a puppy yet, not for another year and a half- two years until a house and fence is built, just doing preliminary research because we like an Akita and I want to prepare myself as much as possible to raise an awesome companion.

When you play and burn off that energy before you leave for your parents house what does that look like? Cause there is training time and the play time how to you pick you dog up to the car the car ride the door at ur parents ect. Or is it constantly every step of the way with treats dont they get full and start to not pay attention again

So. Everything is treat based. Sorry but back in the day. When the only reward was a meal. I'm sure the old times didn't treat base there dogs. No disrespect. But back in the day these dogs were treated by praise and affection. Not treats. Food was treated as a meal for total obedience. Am I wrong?

During play whats the reason for not letting her climb on you, just manners of does it have a bigger significance later on?

My opinion is as the dog matures it will be harder to control jumping or climbing on ppl, plus it also leads to the dog trying to dominate the owners and others leading to the dog thinking it is the alpha.

Manners yes. Also, jumping up could quickly become dangerous when a big breed becomes an adult.
