No game of thrones. That final season was truly evil to the viewers

It's ironic that Atlantis was cancelled just as Jason's quest for the golden fleece was about to begin, after the show had inserted him into many other mythic adventures in which he played no part.

Two other examples I would have gone with include the tv series Spartacus and Blake 7. Both shows end with the main heroes all either dead,dying on on the run.

Spartacus is slept on! It's crawled so GoT could walk. Andy Whitfield was genuinely awesome in that 1st season.

damn shame no one watched sparticus, i actually gave up season 3, with the recast, felt disjointed, few years later did a rewatch and pushed through the recast, friggin hell regret i didn't binge watch it in 1 go sooner hahaha

Far too many of these are "then the show was cancelled" rather than evil winning being an intentional writing decision. Rather disappointing list since there are no shortage of examples where evil winning was the point of the show.

I would think Blackadder the 4th is much more appropriate for this

Mortal Kombat Conquest, The show would have continued but it got cancelled on a cliffhanger which had aeveryone being killed except for Raiden and Shao Kahn. The second season would have resolved everything but that didn’t happen which means that Shao Kahn succeeded.

Regarding Blackadder, more depressing was final season, when the squad went into the final battle and the next scene was poppy flower tribute for all those who died in I WW, making that few or none survived in that battle.

I’d again add “Alphas.” I think that their big bad was brought to justice, but his evil plan was still carried out. The last scene shows everyone in Grand Central Station and all of the cast, except for one, either dead or unconscious.

We never see Villa get shot. Maybe he emerges from under the table and takes out the entire Federation squad before Avon gets shot. 😺😺😺

Power Rangers Dino Charge: The only season that ends with a complete disregard for the Rangers' mission, which results in the temporary destruction of the Earth. It's the only season where might find yourself rooting for the antagonists. Sledge, we hardly knew ye...

All the Blackaddder series and specials ended on a dark note. It was funny.

A shout out to Dexter (Season 4 finale), Alphas, and Mortal Kombat: Conquest (one of my favourite ever finales), with the latter two ending on unresolved cliffhangers, so the villain ultimately ends up victorious.

Machines cannot be sadistic. They'd have to enjoy tormenting their victims; true consciousness required. The robot-dogs were simply tracking a target.

I'm never forgiving how Legend of the Seeker ended!

Dunno if this counts, but... The final episode of Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future; the Power Base gets destroyed and Pilot is killed in the blast.

One question is what happened at the end of Hannibal? Did the protagonist become a killer or continue being a detective?

behind her eyes made me so freaking mad because the supernatural twist didn’t come until the very end and was entirely out of nowhere, at least to me, and completely ruined the show for me. probably one of the endings I hated most from a show, up there with dexter level of bad imo.
