I was a massive Cena hater, and hearing about that all I thought was "Yeah, that's sounds like Cena and WWE." I had no idea how much that event would stick to fans. It seemed like it was the first time Cena has destroyed someone they liked and it made them realize why people hated Cena. Stuff like that is in part why Face/Face are usually seen as bad booking, because people don't like a guaranteed bad result.

I thought the same thing. He could’ve AT LEAST waited a week or had an injury angle where Rey had to relinquish the title and had Cena battle for the title vs Punk at Summerslam

@@tinotica Well that kind of led into the OTHER reason why Rey losing to Cena wasn't the big talking point of the time, because others were baffled that Punk was already back when the smartest thing would be to let him leave for months. Cena re-winning the title from Miz or Truth after like a 2-3 month program, then having a Punk return makes enough sense, especially since that would have lined up with "Night of Champions". Not getting a proper "Summer of Punk" seemed to also stick with people as I even remember people talking about that as a reason why they wanted him to beat Hangman: To get the Summer of Punk we never got. Sadly, it's all just chasing moments that we should have all moved past. I wonder if we'll get an equivalent following for a Mysterio beats Cena match?

People forgetting Big Show only held big gold for like 43 seconds before Daniel Bryan cashed in on him

I was actually a big fan of the Triple H reign at No Mercy 2007. To me it just made the show very unique. You got a title win, a defense, and a loss all in one night. They kept the announced matches of Triple H vs. Umaga and the Last Man Standing Match. It makes it one of the non-main PPVs that is more memorable.

Brian kendrick winning the belt was the most random yet coolest moment ever

Michaels, Bautista, and Otunga. One of these things is not like the others! Yeah, one of them hasn't been on a Marvel production.

Shane Douglas got flat out screwed by the Kliq

The Ray Cena thing happened when I was still a kid, and I liked both guys. But even then I still didn't like that John as the respectable baby face (again, I was a child) faced another baby face like Rey after having already wrestled that night was baffling to me

In a lot of the champions were just handed the belt . One glaring omission from all this though Yokozuna who beat Bret Hart at WrestleMania 9 then was immediately beaten by Hulk Hogan .

I would have put Edge on here for the unique way he did it. He lost the title in the opening chamber and then won the other world title in the second chamber match. Also, huge shout out to HHH for wrestling 3 world title matches including a last man standing match in the same night

That doesn't fit the topic of the video though. The topic is title reigns that lasted less than a day. This means you have to win and then lose the title, not what Edge did which was lose a title, then win a completely different title.

Gauntlet match? I don't know about that, but I do know that Brian Kendrick held the WWE championship for a little while during the Unforgiven 2008 WWE championship Scramble match. Brian Kendrick was known as The Brian Kendrick & was utilizing his "Man With A Plan" entrance theme during a time on Smackdown & Raw in 2009 after being drafted back to Raw until being released during the summer. Side note: I love his "Man With A Plan" entrance theme to this day.
