Why are you focusing and making a comparison on the sex of the victim as if its the student that makes the difference? I personally don't care if the studen is 16 or 18 or even 19 or 20. Being an "adult" rather than just above an arbitrary "age of consent" as if years of life equate to a certain level of maturity is ridiculous. Even in college, a student is subordinate to and conditioned to be compliant with the teacher. Its even worse than an employer/employee or supervisor/subordinate relationship because the employee or subordinate is there as a result of many personal decisions. College kids may imagine they are at the school of their choice but they are significantly influenced by and subjected to the authority of many adults. And nearly always they are acting to please those adults. Any teacher of any age who takes advantage of a student of any age is a dirtbag.

Forty years ago, all this would have been much to do about nothing. As long as the students were approaching 16, close the age of consent in most states. My good HS buddy was doing three female teachers. Fast forward, John was practice teaching in an area HS and was having affairs with two teachers and two female students. All these activities ceased when John graduated from University John got married and was faithful to his wife throughout their marriage.

My son had a girl friend whose young brother was taken to Vegas so she could have sex with him . No he did not become a legend he became depressed and anti social . Searching my memory, but I can't think of any one teacher I had between 1-12 that was even worth a small daydream, and really none in college. I befriended one of my nursing instructors to the point of being invited to her home but it was strictly platonic and both her husband and my wife were there. My female teachers were all in their 70's and wore polyester pants.

In 1981, I was around about 9-10 years old. A 4th grade teacher locked 2 classroom doors. She was wanted me to approach her desk and touch her. Then the most AMAZING situation happened. She arranged a transfer with me to another school. Actually coming to my home and talking my parents into signing a paper allowing the transfer. I re-met her in 8th grade, a face turned white as a ghost. After class I approached her and said "I didnt tell anyone" she was nearly in tears. she replied "thank you. Nor my late parents or schools officials ever learned of this, But Ive written a memoir and her story is included. The situation didnt bother me but Im possibly among the fist student-teachers situations of this nature that ever happened.
