All dogs have their special qualities but gsg s are so much different. It seems they know you through their eyes to see your soul. They are amazing dogs.

My previous GSD, Xena Warrior Princess, she was a rescue and came with the name helped me on so many levels and dried so many tears after my Mom passed away. She was my best study body, she both graduated with a MA in History, she was a my side with each assignment. My current GSD is doing the same with my current pursuit for my next MA, the stress relief and companionship is amazing. All dogs are priceless due to their gift of unconditional love to us. Love the posts of people in their 70s who have GSDs, that will be me! LOVE GSDs ❤❤❤❤Great video once again, thanks.

She is such a good girl. She brings me joy every day. She watches for strangers she listens to commands. She doesn’t destroy anything when I leave a home alone she loves to play. She is a blessing in my life I’m 72 years old and I feel safe with my beautiful Loyal, compassionate German Shepherd. She is like my child. And that is exactly how I feel about her. She is definitely a member of my family. I also have a little Yorky, who is just as loyal and lovable protective as my German shepherd. The only thing he’s missing is size. I love my dogs I have a boy and a girl, and I never feel alone.

Training a GSD who has hip dysplasia. I can handle him but female owner struggles. Is that harness a no pull type?

73 and I wondered if I was too old for a GS even though I have trained other dog breeds.

Owning one will be demanding, but you're okay as long as you can meet that demand.

I am 76, own my 6th GSD and he is only 2 years old. But I trained him socially, used a pro trainer, and spend lots of time with him. You have to have the time and willingness to train and love.

I don't know why no one is posting. I don't own a GSD as of yet. I was about to volunteer at our local humane society so I could get to know any GSDs that were brought in. I was due for a physical and I thought I was sleeping too much because I was depressed, my physician noticed something else and ordered blood tests which explained my increase in sleep time. I was found to have a blood disorder that may be the result of an internal bleed, an infection that has been smoldering but hasn't made itself known, an autoimmune disorder or cancer. So the next few months will be dedicated to a lot of tests until the cause if found. If it is something treatable I will continue to look for a GSD as we had one when I was growing up but when I was older and renting I thought it was irresponsible to have a dog and leave them alone in an apartment all day long, especially a GSD. If it is not treatable or the odds are not in my favor it would be cruel to adopt a dog and then die and then the dog goes back to the Humane Society because some of my family have dogs and one more dog might be one too many. I can't know what will happen after my death. Thanks for the information provided.

Sorry to hear your situation. I have dogs in my whole life. When I went for volunteer training. My Germanshepherd dog did not make the requirement. One day when we passed by while he was training , he climbed on the fence & woof at us. He picked us to be his parents . I love him to death ever since.

Oh! One thing about the gsd are they are very routine. If not , they will talk to you. Well, anyway, they are your boss. It's a lovely & funny way.

My dog is an asshole. My suggestion is if you want one get a puppy.. some will try to be the dominant in the relationship with you. I've now had 5 German shepherds and yes he's an asshole

I have owned 6 and the only way a GSD is an ashore is due to the owner. They naturally love their leader. You did wrong things. Perhaps you are the problem.
