Kenworth had some of the most advanced technology in truck manufacturing, like piano hinge doors, & a grille, that doubled as the A/C condensor. Love the W-9's!

Spent many, many a mile in my W900B pulling a 11,500 water gallon Propane Tank. It was a 60” Flattop Sleeper model with a 3406B 425 turned 10% over stock with a Fuller 13 speed and .355’s. I kick myself every day for selling that baby. I’d give my right nut to have that tractor back! BTW, this video didn’t tell me a single thing I didn’t already know. For the record, I hate the way the 990 looks.😎

I love those old k100s...bad ass trucks....my friens had a stretched out k100 series areodyne , the bunkbed cabover w the rabbit ear sleeper. It was a Rip Griffin -Bekins van lines truck. Had a huge drombox on the back so it was stretched way out. It was HUGE! Like 270 r 280 I think....for a cabover that's GIGANTIC

W900B was first released in September of 1982. It is still in production, as is the L model variation, the T800, and C500B. The B model never had a long-hood option. The L model was first available in 1989. The T660 and W900S have been discontinued. The A, B, H, L, and S are conventional models. The C, E, F, and G models are cabovers. Therefore, if someone says they have an A-model Kenworth, they have a 1961 - mid '82 conventional. If they said they had a C model, that's a '61 - mid '83 cabover.

@@hunterstanfield7100 no, there were no "long hood" B models. From late '82 until late '89, the only W900 was the 120" BBC. The T600 and T800 were also 120" BBC at that time. The C500A and C500B were available with several different variations, but those were mostly for PTO accommodations ahead of the grille (those models had straight frame rails, so they were offered with longer BBC's for PTO's or winches, etc.

    # 11) The W-9 has the highest hood in the industry. I almost bought a W-9 years ago, but, I decided to stick with Freightliner and bought a Classic XL instead. The reason being that I couldn't stand up from the drivers seat and walk right into the bunk in the KW while I can in my Classic. I might be able to in a W-9 with a studio, but, they just look funny to me. In my eyes, my Classic with the 84" condo looks more integrated than the KW with a studio.

Wayne Williams You're entitled to your opinion and I'm not going to argue with you. The only thing I know for certain is that I love my Classic and it's still on the road every day. My first tractor was a used FLD12064. When I bought my Classic, I COULD afford a W-9. I chose the Classic for the reasons I described in my original comment.
