10 Things you didn’t know about the Arab-Israeli conflict (sub: DE, ES, FR, IT)

The Arab-Israeli conflict is a topic I get asked about a lot. And although you hear a great deal about it, there are many basic aspects that people don’t know about. So I’ve summarized the essentials here.
Jewish settlements that had to be evacuated because of Arab violence:
Beer Tuvia, Beerot Itzhak, Beit Eshel, Beit HaArava, Beit Shean, Bni Yehuda, Har Tuv, Zichron Avraham, Hebron, Hulda, Chmara, Kfar Uria, Kfar Giladi, Germak, Kfar Saba, Moza, Metula, Masade, Gaza, Tel Hai, Tiferet Binyamin, and others.

I totally agree with @francescoc9976, and really appreciate your knowledge and your pragmatic way of telling the story of both claims and to debunk today's leftist narrative regarding the pro Palestinian movement happening around the world. I simply cannot have a normal debate based on the Oct 7th massacre with non Jews. I cannot comprehend that people of my generation, give or take a decade, who were taught the same history cursus as I was and yet say utter nonsense, based on repeated pro Palestinian propaganda and most leftists and even liberals are seduced it seems by their narrative. Are we sleepwalking into a radical Islamist agenda? - destruction of Israel, then build a Califate on Israel's ashes and then move on, through Turkey to Europe, spreading hate and violence as they go...

The biggest terrorist is the israeli state. The immoral acts of the israeli army made palestinians wanting revange. Every country that gets treated like israel treated palestine would get a "hamas". Instead of sending food to poor kids in GAZA with drones they send bombs. This is only gonna create more hate in the eyes of the palestinian people. This way only more palestinians will Join hamas. If israel wanted to stop hamas they could do it in 5 minutes by making a moral deal. But they wont, israel want to take over the whole west bank and gaza. The way to create peace is to treat all citizen the same without looking at looking at religion. The problem is that the western media is controlled by blackrock, blackstond and vanguard. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND LOOK AT THE TRUTH. DONT LET THE MEDIA MANUPILATE YOU. Ofcouse they will fight back. I would also fight back if a jew tells me that my house is promised to him by god 😂. This is one of the most succinct and enlightening summaries of the conflict I have ever heard. You blew my mind with virtually all of your 10 points. I am a Canadian Jew, and I grew up hearing the 'pro-Palestinian' propaganda. For much of my life, I figured that, even if Israel was not as bad as the news was portraying, they must have done quite a bit wrong to the 'Palestinians'. In more recent years, and having researched this topic a fair bit, I eventually found out that 'Palestinians' did not call themselves 'Palestinian' for most of history, and in fact, only really started doing so after the 1967 Six Day War, when they realized that, by calling themselves Palestinian, it would allow them to appear to have a better claim on the land. This sleight-of-hand has certainly worked like a charm, and it is up to everybody who respects the truth to point out the propagandistic origins of this trick.

@@ninjamusic9554 First of all, I wouldn't describe remaining Jews after the Holocaust as 'Jews that ran away,' I'd describe them more accurately as 'survivors', since the vast majority of them DIDN'T manage to run away, and were killed. Secondly, with regards to the rest of your comment, no, it's not in the least bit similar. The 'Palestinian' Arabs only started calling themselves 'Palestinians' in 1964. It was the PLO that started this. Before 1964, Arabs within the current borders of Israel vehemently refused the term 'Palestinian', because they saw that name (and rightfully so) as an Imperial moniker imposed on the people in that region. By contrast, 'Israel' is the English langauge equivalent of the hebrew 'Yisroel', which means 'he who struggles with G-d'. This is one of the ancient names of the Jewish people, and is not a new invention at all. Many 'Jews' called themselves Israelis even 2000 years ago or more. The Torah contains many references to 'Israel' in reference to the entire nation of Jews, so this is a very ancient term, and was used by Jews long before the restoration of the ancient Kingdom or nation of Israel in 1948.

@@Moshe_Dayan44 How does this matter? The name Palestine was affixed to this piece of geography by "the world" - meaning Great Britain in the Balfour Declaration and then in the language of the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine. Arab residents of Palestine began to develop a national consciousness during the Mandate years in response to the waves of Jewish immigration and its well organized leadership. What difference what they call themselves? You can try to justify the Jewish presence in Palestine 'til the cows come home but there is no denying the bottom line, that nobody asked the Arab residents of Palestine if they agreed to mass Jewish immigration into what they felt was their land. That in a nutshell is why they went to war and why they are so angry to this day.

The conflict between Israel and the Arabs isn't over land but religion, it makes no difference if Israel was the size of Texas or a tennis court the Muslims refuse to accept the validity of Judaism and the Jewish people and as long as they continue to think that way nothing can change. I honestly wish we had peace but the best we can have is a Hudna or ceasefire allowed by Islam when an opponent is too powerful to attack, this is what we have now with Egypt and Jordan. A Hudna can be broken at any time if the opponent becomes weak or the Arabs gain in strength. Both those countries hate us and would attack us tomorrow if they had a chance. That's the nature of the situation, I wish it was otherwise but wishful thinking gets you killed in this region.

Yeshar Koach! Well spoken! The last time I was in Israel (2.5 years ago) I paid extremely close attention to the interaction of Jews and Arabs\Muslims. I wanted to see if there was a hint of bias and bigotry in their eyes or in their body language- as the media was saying Israel practices Apartheid. Young fashionable Palestinians glided through malls, sat with their baby carriages in the same restaurants and right next to their Israeli\Jewish counterparts. There were no sections for Jews and others for Arabs. They all sat and enjoyed the same freedoms. I watched closely as Arabs would consult with the store clerks and attendants or waiters. There was NO HINT of any difference between Jews and Arabs! NONE! On the way to the Airport, my Arabs\Palestinian taxi driver spoke to me about "We in Israel". He participated and welcomed Israel. His son is a Pharmacist in one of the large hospitals. Palestinians are Doctors, lawyers, Engineers, professors, members of Parliament - this is apartheid? There are those who wish to join with Jews and those who do not. The problem today is that people with no information act as though they are experts. Most know nothing of Israel but have formulated opinions and sadly, the truth seems to be of no interest to them.

@@monopixel5569 The Philistinian identity had been established in that region well before the so called Roman exodus, in fact even his so precious fairy tail books name that they've existed there before the Israelites came to that land. However I find that arguments that span that far back are moot and pointless. The Palistinian identity has existed for over a thousand years and that alone should justify it. If you really want to go by his argument "The Jews fought a war and lost" Secondly, Jews did not outnumber Palistinians pre WWI. While what he said about Jerusalem might be true it does not stand to be true for the greater Palistinian area, in fact Jews were a minority sitting at 3% of the population. WWI mass immigration of Jews assisted by the British stoked many conflicts in that region. Secondly, there was never a fair proposition of dividing the land. This video completely leaves out the aggressive war Israel started and the hundreds of thousands of civilians deported from their homes for the establishment of Israel, it doesn't take a lot of research to find out that the war was no defensive one, also research the Nakba if you so want to discover the atrocities committed by the country. Thirdly. Israeli constitution is inherently ethno supremacist/ethno centered. The constitution itself states that Israel is not a state where Jews live but a state specifically for Jews, a state where you have to be Jewish to enjoy your full list of rights. The video suggests that Israeli Jews and Palestinians live in harmony when that can't be farther from the truth, even with an Israeli citizenship Palestinians don't have the same rights as Jews. This doesn't even touch on the numerous human rights violations committed towards the stateless Palestinians within the borders every day

How about Blacks who have suffered for centuries at the hand of White Americans establish a Black state in predominantly Black districts and cities? And if America says No and starts a war to reclaim the land back, we conclude that this is because America is racist and hates Blacks and doesn't want a peaceful resolution to the conflict. This is the kindergarten level of argument from the pro-Israeli side.

These last years, I truly tried to understand the conflict and more I dug, more I found this conflict was one-sided by the (western) medias towards the Arabs. Naturally, my vision of Israel changed even if I know not all is perfect but what country is? What further turned the tide against the regime was the unity that transpired within the entire borders that used to demarcate Palestine before the Israeli invasion of 1948, the statement added. The unity bound the resistance movements, their fellow Palestinians in the Tel Aviv-occupied West Bank, and others based elsewhere in the occupied territories during the Israeli aggression, they said. “Today, the brutal and infanticidal Zionist regime tastes the bitterness of defeat in the face of this unity,” the statement read. The era of the regime’s “brazen attacks” is over, they said, adding that the ardent Palestinian youths now had the upper hand in their cause of defending the holy occupied city of al-Quds against the regime. The senior seminarists also valued the resistance groups’ calculation, planning, and “intelligence superiority” over the regime during the struggle. The Palestinian groups also bore witness to the futility of the dreams that are entertained by those, who have been seeking to realize the “from-Nile-to-Euphrates” project. The ambition refers to the Israeli regime and its international supporters’ dream of stretching the areas under the regime’s occupation from the former river to the latter.

Lots of Arabs moved there as the deserts were made to bloom and life was far better than in their real homelands.

Visitors from the West to Israel before Zionism (around the mid 1800's) were shocked to find a land not just devoid of people, but almost denuded of vegetation. In the north was uninhabitable malarial swamps. The south was desert. It was the Jews who with their dedication and resourcefulness restored the land and made it habitable. The Arabs came in numbers after the Jews to take advantage of the jobs the Jews had created. As for "The Palestinian People" , Yasser Arafat and his cronies came up with that fake identity in the 1960's as an anti-Israel propaganda weapon. In truth, Arabs don't have nationalities. They have tribes, and those tribes dislike each other intensely. Arab tribalism is one of the main reasons why there is so much violence in Arab societies. There's no such thing as "The Palestinian People."

This is probably one of the nastiest Israeli lies. According to the 1946 Survey of Palestine (I have a copy), the Palestinian Arabs were responsible for 90% of Palestine's agricultural output. Under British rule, Palestine was divided into 16 administrative sub-districts. Arabs owned more land (usually substantially more land) than Jews in ALL 16 sub-districts. The Palestinian Arabs were competent farmers who developed the citrus industry in Palestine and exported barley to the beer makers of Germany long before the Jews started arriving in the 1880's. The Survey explicitly states that the Palestinian Arabs were NOT immigrants from surrounding countries.

Sure its just one sided. Claiming that the Israelis never committed violent acts against the Palestinians is a joke and complaining about the aid to Palestinians. And he is stating what would happen if Germans wanted to go back to their grandparents homes who says they can't? Didn't know there was a law from being able to move to where you want. The fact is there is just as much blood on the Israeli hands as there are on Palestinians so I mean if we want to be honest about the whole thing is isn't just one side he is trying play the victim and not acknowledging the police state and violence perpetrated on the side Israeli police and military. No no one's hands are free of blood and he needs to stop acting like they had no role or hand in the violence that keeps going back and forth.

The problem is that people don't understand that the conflict between Israel and the Arabs isn't over land but religion. It makes no difference if Israel was the size of Texas or a tennis court, it's the refusal to accept the validity of the Jewish state and Judaism. You can make peace with individuals but not with a religion that calls for the death of the Jewish people everywhere.

@@talbenavraham1385 It's 100% about land. It always has been, When you have Jews saying that the Bible says this is our land, and the Arabs saying the Quran says this is our land... the situation will NEVER be resolved. In '67, had we done the smart thing, and exiled ALL the Arabs from the W. Bank (potentially, Gaza, also) or pulled way back keeping E. Jerusalem and Gush Etzion, we would probably be in a different situation today. I still don't believe a totally peaceful one, but possibly a better one.

@@stevedgrossman it's about religion, they simply refuse to accept our existence. We offered them the land after the six day war and refused, they've refused every offer before and since. The only solution is to force them across the river into Jordan only then will we can live peacefully. Giving them land has been shown not to work, Gaza has proved that, giving them Judea and Samaria would mean Gaza 2 but ten times the size. Truth is I used to think peace was possible but the killings of the Fogel family including a 8 month old baby taught me otherwise. Only by showing ruthless violence towards them will the Arabs live in peace and only then if they live in Jordan. Sad but factual.
