  • @mylovesongs2429
    @mylovesongs24294 жыл бұрын

    I loved the special effects in T3. That crane scene, just pulverizing buildings, cars, trucks, and everything else is pretty good! The scene at the campsite, where they found the abandoned RV, and John, The Terminator, and Kathryn were talking about the nuclear war, was pretty dramatic. The truth came out in the RV on the way to CRS. John and Kathryn are married in the future. Also, the resistance captured The Terminator and reprogrammed him. There is a part of the movie that is simply not explained. How could John go to a vet where his future wife worked at, without knowing so? How did the Terminator know that both John AND Kathryn, as well as the TX, were there at the vet? Just a bit far-fetched. Or maybe, like time-travel movies, do people know where someone will be because of past experiences? I loved the nukes exploding towards the end. Very good special effects, but they would be awesome if Cameron woulda directed. The funny parts, like "Talk to the hand", Terminator's Elton John glasses, the way he forced the cop off his motorcycle, and the way he threw the firemen outta the firetruck were all comedy gold. Miss Loken's TX was awesome! The sinister ways she killed people were great! Killing Jose Barerra at the drive-thru at the burger joint, killing William and Elizabeth Anderson at their home, and killing Scott, Kate's fiance.

    I wasn't young when Terminator 3 came out and I loved every minute of it. The best part was it had a new message. Instead of beating to death, which became a tired cliche, "there's no fate but what we make" we get "we must rise and accept our destiny." The best sci-fi doesn't repeat itself to the point where the message is beaten to death. You have to be able to mix new messages into Old works. Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation does a wonderful job of doing this.

    The series has always touched on the concept that the cyberdyne systems model 101 all look like Arnold while the original film made it clear that they don't. Reese has a flashback moment remembering the dogs detecting a Terminator in their bunker played by a different actor and also explained to Sarah that he had to wait for the Terminator to zero in on her at the nightclub to identify him. Arnold Schwarzenegger talking with a southern accent would have been to corny anyway.

    @@MrPornoforpandas I go into a film thinking "I will be entertained" and bad things in a movie chip away at that starting point, so it's a long way down before I start feeling negative. I just went in hoping for a good time and NOTHING in this film started knocking points off for me. I enjoyed it all the way through, same with Salvation and Genisys. Rarely do films today have anything like the impact they had in a era where we were seeing stuff that we'd never seen before and after the 90s and the CGI revolution everything now seems homogeneous. T3 is a film I remember really well (coming at the start of the "Bland Era") and it holds up and also has more going on in it many films I've seen in the intervening years that I can barely remember. Critics go into a film looking for something to say about it, and it's so easy to be negative like many an internet critical wannabe. I feel lucky that I have the ability to enjoy so many films that other people deride and pity them on the fun they seem to miss. If there's one thing T3 gave us that I regret; I remember being impressed when the Terminators square off in the Skynet bathroom by how they were flinging each other brutally across the room but now every fight in Marvel or DC consists mainly of that, goodie runs at big villain monster and the monster throws them away into a wall or rock face or building. Goodie runs back while villain walks towards them, villain catches goodie and throws them away again. Seen that so many times now an I'm sick of it. Time to consign that fight style to the bin along with the ubiquitous fake-out death moment. "Oh the hero died saving my life, oh they're dead, they're dead. No they're fine, they weren't dead at all". Last time that happened I looked at my mates and said "How long d'you reckon before they're not really dead ?"

It just felt like a retread of T2 with the same story we’d already been through. Honestly, T3 was a huge missed opportunity if you ask me. A proper third movie could’ve shown the rise of Skynet that lead to the fall of mankind. Then a forth movie could’ve been all about the rise of the machines and the future war we’ve seen so many flashbacks about. Instead, we’ve gotten WAY too many attempts at a third movie and none of them are worth watching if you ask me. I’m definitely happy that I grew up in 1980s because the 80s and 90s had some of THE best films ever made.

In the first film, there's a flashback (flash forward?), scene that shows a Terminator infiltrating a resistance bunker that Reese was in. It wasn't Arnold. Of course in later films, they made the whole assembly line of Arnolds, but I don't consider anything after T2 to be canon. It makes more sense that Arnold was just one model, one version of the Terms. They were made to infiltrate the resistance. If they all looked like Arnold, they'd be easy, REAL easy, to spot. It was the SkyNet super computer's idea, not the military's before the war. Still think the cut scene was funny as hell.

    I loved T3 ! It was a surprise like Batman begins 2 years later . I felt this was a great conclusion to the series , especially the way it ended . It also did well at the box office 433 million,2nd most behind T2 .

    Even though it’s not perfect, I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for T3 since it was the first Terminator movie I watched. I still love that the movie had the balls to say that judgment day is inevitable. No matter what you couldn’t stop or run away from a doomsday of sorts. Pretty fitting.

    Actually the ending of T2 called for a sequel because John survives. Unless he created an alternate timeline. The lack of chemistry was kind of the point.

    Temp music... amateur composers on the verge of greatness often get boxed into temp music, formula, and ultimately replicating stuff (cause it works.) T3 likely gave him the confidence to tell his directors “what’s up.”

    The one thing I remember about that summer was how much hype the 'car chase' in Matrix 2 was gonna kick all kinds of ass. In reality, it didn't have the same effect of 'holy shit' that Rise of the Machines' car chase had and no one, not even it's studio, even hyped it up at all. The only thing you knew about it was the flipping of the crane truck shown in the trailer. The craziness of that scene holds up, I think. Matrix 2 is probably more fondly remembered in general, but it's car chase scene is all over the place and is more about fighting and jumping on things and furthermore, subconciously, you kinda know in-story nothing there is real, so...it just carries less weight in general.
