    Calming. Agreed. I do the same thing. I try to show, not only information, but why the information is true, other points of view, consider my audience, figure out who they are and what they might want and why I can be helpful, etc. And, from time to time I get, "idk how you knew all that, but you really sound like you know want you are doing." They bad part, I have put a person asleep on occasion because they really didn't care as much as I did and I just overwhelmed them. :)

    One thing I find shocking is how difficult built-in microwaves or micro/oven combi are to operate. My old 1990's microwave had a big dial/button. You press the button anytime and it starts! Modern microwave/combi monstrosities are 8 (not kidding!) actions before it turns on. Are there any built-in microwaves that have a "GO!" button? Siemens: no. Miele: no. Neff: no. (I think)

    Thanks for the info. I have used all 3. The one with the grill was difficult to clean inside at the top. Still have the flatbed which is good but haven’t enough room in my kitchen as they need 30 cm headspace. Never bothered with any other feature on the combination. I have gone back to the basic, often par cook jacket potatoes and finish off in the Hallogen. Steam Rice and veggies, defrost and reheat dinners. However, very interesting advice.

    After having a Panasonic inverter microwave for years in my single years back in blighty; and loving it to bits; my husband bought one. However the one he bought here didnt have a carousel and was just awful. Typical non carousel microwave issues: Frozen on one end and burnt on the other. We replaced it with a cheap homebrand from aussie target, called concerto; that had a carousel, and it has served us far better than the pricier panasonic flat bottom. So that is one big bit of advice that should never be skipped. Never ever buy a microwave that doesn't rotate directly in some way. If you splurge, still consider that.

    That is so true. My cheapo Kogan convection microwave even with a 5 year extended warranty with free shipping/returns to manufacturer for warranty claims didn't cost half as much as these ones and I've been using it for almost 5 years. Ones Panasonic meant quality but now Japanese are notorious for planned obsolescence.

    Never had a microwave with a turntable. I had a Philips with no turntable, which was far bigger inside than most at the time . I only replaced it when the plastic inside the door broke up. It was still working fine. Almost the only domestic model available now without a table is the top end Panasonic. I ended up buying a Sharp Commercial model. Almost all commercial microwaves have no turntable. Easier to clean with more power. NEVER had problems with uneven cooking.

    Hi there. My biggest issue is the space. My old microwave was second hand from my mum and she bought it in 1981! It only died around a decade ago. It was a flatbed from the brand Sharp and was shaped like a portable TV. Then my friend gave me her old one when mine died which she had barely used. I believe it is either a grill or a combi although I've never used that side. It has taken up one work surface in my postage stamp of a kitchen! Now the turntable is squeaking badly and rust has developed underneath. Can I not find a square shaped microwave anymore? It would help with my lack of space greatly. I would appreciate a reply if you can.

    I'm definitely, going for a mainstream microwave for my next microwave after I blew up my Cobalt talking microwave last weekend, oops. The big problem though, I'm legally blind, so either, dials, push buttons or both are essential so I can use a microwave without sighted assistance. I'm thinking I'll go for the Russell Hobbs Easy microwave, because I'm not fond of the really cheap and cheerful mannual microwaves with dials.

  • @lords-electrical

    @lords-electrical

    On the microwave it is the different power levels that it can heat at. Most microwaves have 3 settings and it would normally be around 180w for low, 400w medium and high is around 800 - 900w. not everything would need to be heated on high although most people only use the high setting.

    Figure where you are keeping the microwave. A microwave needs just a little overhead clearance, whereas a combo needs 6 to 12 inches overhead clearance. You can’t place it on your countertop if there are cabinets above. This is my problem. I don’t want a cart sitting out just for that.

Also, it heats food much faster than the microwave it is replacing. This surprised me, but it's great. The heat is even, and (so far) no problems. I only gave it 4/5 for small spaces, as I'm not sure I would agree to that. It fits perfectly in my kitchen, which isn't huge, but it would have been bulky in my condo. I am moving up from a smaller sized microwave, partly because popcorn didn't fit well in my old microwave. It will fit in this one.

    P100? What does it mean? I'm only used to microwaves that actually says the watts, not giving me a P something bull... I googled and found out that P means Power and the whole idiotic concept of calculating the watts is to take the power times 10, so P100 is 1000 watts but only on a 1000 watts microwave, not on a 800 watts microwave, lol... I give up...

    Yes yes I want to buy a microwave there are just too many options you see two microwaves that looks the same but one costs twice the price of the other what am I getting I don't want to waste my money on something that I'm never going to use apparently text-to-speech does not use commas 🤣

    Normally the more expensive models have a oven and grill as well as microwave. Also some have flat bed technology which makes cleaning easier and some of the capacities are larger on the more expensive models.

    @@lords-electrical thanks! I actually watched the entire video and it was very helpful, especially the point about paying a little more for one that doesn't have a painted cavity that will peel off over time.
