Ya, I started around then too about 2016-17; thanks Taspens for showing far back had no idea what it was like. When I started I used Rico but didn't do that well then went to smoky did a bit better. Lol...my 1st acount was wrecked like 0.76 kdr...so made a new one; now I am above 1.0....like 1.2 kdr. I should be higher but playing too much siege with smoky viking ruined my record..... I noticed campers or good juggernaut players have like beyond 2 kdr.... makes me feel newb.

Ya, I sort of like that by color you know the rail strength. All I remember rail was killing me a lot back when I started, smoky and rico didn't have much a chance. The key in this game per MM game choosing the right protection and immunities is key, 1 messed up and it will make your game very hard. With rail and armadillo it maxed it is way easier now, and I play with wasp/defender is a good combo for CP game mode.@@FruitUproot

I have been playing Tanki Online for over 10 years. I remember all the things you mentioned in the video. Back then, it was extremely difficult to acquire a new rank. I used to play with my little brother, and sometimes we would argue when we couldn't catch a gold box. It was boring to wait for another one, and even if it did drop, many competitive players would emerge to block you. However, now it is too easy to acquire gold boxes, and no one seems to care much about it.

It's just that 1k crystals is an irrelevant value for Legends.

Generalissimo being max was Tanki's peak, but actually Marshal, was originally the final rank. Even says on the Wiki.

True I my dad played during this time, and something a lot of players don't know is that after marshal the next max rank was field marshal not Generalissimo only after field marshal was max rank Generalissimo became the new one

Ong back then when I was in low ranks, I'd get so hyped on seeing a purple railgun shot, and even more when I see a yellow one. The sheer sight of an m3 hyped up low ranks, because of the unique skins. Only m3 hulls had the blue lights in front, and that was one of the main reasons I wanted to have one so badly. I remember grinding hard to buy ricochet mk0, which had a price of 1800 crystals at the time. You only used to get 50-80 crystals per battle. The progression was absolutely fun (Apart from a lot of things).

One more thing, there used to be kits, like for 50k you could get an m2 kit with a paint and on purchasing that you used to get some free supplies. Osaka kit one i remember with isida. The green effect for twins was so good 😭♥️

Around 5 years ago, I was saving up for a kit as a non-buyer. I think I accrued around 100k crystals at the time. Then I stopped playing for about 4 years to focus on school. When I returned 1 year ago, to my dismay, there were no kits available to purchase for crystals anymore, only tankoins.

Dropping goldbox gave me ANXIETY ifelt it in my stomach when it dropped, everyone was waiting it was so iconic. Goldbox videos got millions of views, i really miss that era:(((

Awesome video. I remember how I used to get VERY anxious about catching the gold box, it was actually unhealthy for a child to get so ramped up about a game, but a gold box was a gold box! I really liked reminiscing of sll the things you mentioned, I just loved eveything, but I still like playing Tanki periodically, currently I'm playing hard again, liking it a lot!

Haha, yeah now that you bring it up I vividly remember feeling my adrenaline course through my veins when I heard that gold box siren in the hopes I would be the one to catch it against all 19 other tankers. Ofc I rarely caught any but it was a thrill.

I cant remember when I started, but it was around 2010. I remember buying my first M3, which was hornet. (I was mainly an XP player.) But if I were to think of an OG thing it would be something simple. Such as the old loading screen. When it use to be bullets flying across the loading screen. I also remember that cause my computer ran slow sometimes so they looked like they were in slow-motion. Much love to my OGs out there and best of luck to the new folks.

I really miss the old maps with the secrect rooms. like Barda in 2015 under that 1 bridge there was a maze where you could jump in. And in the map Osa you had to climb over the trainrail border to get in. That's was for me the best time period of Tanki Online.

I remember when Tanki would give you a lot of crystals if you hadn't logged in for a while back in 2010 -2011. I would play for countless hours and not get bored. Catching gold felt very rewarding too back then.

i remember in my first account i used to rent and buy paints only and i was like warrant officer with only paints and not even a single m1. And i liked how a turret/tanks looks changed when u upgraded them

Ive been playing since 2010/11, back when freeze, richochet and thunder were not even in the game. I have three good things most OGs forgot. One thing most OGs 100% forgotten is that turrets and hulls used to have no change in skins in relation to the upgrade. m3 dictator looked the same as m0 dictator. Another thing most OGs forgot is that DICTATOR used to be the FASTEST hull, faster than Wasp even. Yet another thing most COULD remember is that you could climb up walls with RICOCHET or THUNDER by hitting the ground. It was OP on maps like Combe, Brest, etc.

I remember back in the day you didn't have to spend money on creating a pro-battle. It was free for everyone. You could choose whethere or not threre would be drug boxes in the game. I was so fun! Also my favorite map in Tanki Online was Gallery. Such a beautiful map

I was so hyped when I got the blue-shot M1 rail

M1, M2, M3 was the best thing ever, it looked so good and it was fun to play back then. But now it is literally an event, if the event is fun I would like to play or else no motivation.

So good! You got crystals for signing in and then you found these blue boxes with either xp or crystals in them. I don't remember if it's 1 or 10, but I think they still have them on lower ranks. I definitely remember the paint protections but they were so hard to get! Honestly I think they should have capped the ranking at Legend.

Taspens..I wish you could have or find images of silence 3 and 4 (which had several arches at the top and you could jump over the red team very easily) They are very good memories of clicking and clicking to enter a battle together with friends. There was a program called clicker, which clicked on its own, you set the time you wanted it to click until you entered the battle. Thank you for bringing back so many memories.

also i really enjoyed the models of turrets and hulls themselves being tied to your upgrades. i always looked forward to upgrading my tank so i can drive around in an upgraded looking hornet :-))

I remember when I got my firebird upgraded to M3 :O it was before the rebalance of all turrets and hulls. The flame was blue, and for M2 the flame was purple. So beautiful. I was so sad when with the new texture update the blue firebird was no more :(

Btw I remember that one Smoky XT video from a decade ago where the guy is using Dictator and « In Love » paint I remember click-spamming on the last place available in a battle that I wanted to join in case someone left so I could join fast Btw I totally agree with you, it was so hard to rank up back then. I came back to Tanki last year and I was A Generalissimo with like 98k kills, and nowadays I see Legends with 10k kills Thanks for this video, you should definitely make a part 2 👏🏼

Back then the in-game economy was crazy,ror f2p players having m1 equipment was a feeling of such accomplishment!! And supply usage especially in the lower ranks was restricted to the buyers mostly. Also loading times were crazyy long ,and having to open the garage,in a battle took super long. I still remember my beart racing, everytime i used to hear the Gold Box siren blaring! Watching cladiu,OUFA,Mr.Thunder,GhostAnimatorTO And a lot of tanki youtubers for not only the awesome gameplay and gold box montages,but also for the absolute banging EDM music!!

I wish the devs will bring back the Gifts feature someday. I remember back in late 2013, in my old account, I sent like two "Thumbs Up" to an individual to cheer them up. I think this feature was very useful back then when you want to send an important message to your friend even though they are offline. That "Individual" in question haven't been online for years now and I even remembered they sent me a gift as well as a response to my message on one of the gifts I sent to them. Stating something like that they have been busy with life and Tennis stuff too. I hope they are okay still.

Yea it used to be electric until the late 2013 update which revolutionised the graphics of the game

I have one: back when augments required a specific level to unlock and depending on the level you would have to pay a certain price. Like the first rail gun augment was 20k crystals (the shot stabiliser one I can’t remember its name)

almost every m2 which had shot colour in low rank was so good and having in your team was almost everytime win

The Premium Mac & Cheese paint protection (only available while you paid for premium) - initially the devs set it to 20% and everyone complained it was too much to those that had it. Then the devs lowered to 15% and increased the damage output of the turrets. Those same people who complained the protection was too much now said it was garbage because it offered no real protection at 15%. Go figure. I miss original Smoky - instant hits on target, the high impact, and the only turret to deliver critical hits all rolled into one. I wasn't there when Shaft came out and didn't have a beam.

On Rio if you set it to parkour mode and space you can get behind the second largest building and see it was actually just a sprite,and at one corner you can clip out and get kicked out the match,it doesnt work anymore i think

I miss playing polygon CP and noise CTF. Team work was actually needed back then

I cant remember what it was called, I think it was called the tornado kit and it was m2 hornet and m2 railgun with the spark paint, I wanted this kit so badly lol The paint just worked beautifully with the turret and hull (especially with the purple m2 railgun shot), also I personally enjoyed the m2 versions of equipment more than the m3 since the m3 ones seemed over done sometimes, and also it was such an aesthetically pleasing difference in design going from m1 to m2. Repair kits being absolutely busted was also a very OG thing.

I haven't played this game since 2020, it was a great fun journey especially events, making youtube videos and whatnot. Hahaha it was my first online game that i enjoyed so much. Probably u must know ABDULLAH GMR, i had my channel with this name. Ahhh good old days 😊💜

I remember i play Tanki since Shaft was born. Every game have no lag, no dead body blocks your shots or your way. I love the new HD graphics of the game compared to old ones but the the game mechanics was so simple and better than today. I hate they just destroyed Isida. Isida was the best support and also a Vampire. Now you have to get Vampire nanobots to kill and not healing anything with 1hp or to get support nanobots for healing but poor damage and no life steal/self heal. And another thing... with Isida you could easy get a top 3 with the masive xp gain.

idk how og it is but another thing would be the weekly mission streak i think the max was 5 weeks and you would get crazy rewards for having a streak that long
