Agree with this, I do. And remember, do, or do not, there is no try.
As I've gotten older, I've tried to live by the motto, "Don't be afraid to suck." One doesn't need to be unhappy to create art, but one needs to create art when unhappy.

Yes, yeah, yup, and affirmative. If you're afraid to suck, you'll never get good enough to not suck.
I cannot help but to be completely enamored by your humility and realness. Most of this video could be summed up to this-- "Take action- do it- get in the trenches and stop worrying about being perfect today because thats not how this works."

Hi Warren, I'm Paul from S.Korea. I first learned about your channel about 5 years ago and I've been keeping up with your contents ever since then(except for the time I served in the Korean Army). I always wanted to mix better and better even though I was a singer, and I never gave up on studying mixing. I bought all the contents from Pro Mix Academy and studied so hard to train my ears and craftsmanship, and finally this month, I debuted as a mix engineer and mixed a song that was published here in Korea. I just wanted to thank you the most because even though you don't know me, I learned so much from you and your contents and I believe you were mainly the reason I had so much fun mixing music. So THANK YOU for being a great teacher, and I hope you keep doing marvelously well in the future :) !!!

"Art is never finished, only abandoned." -Leonard da Vinci I never hear that kind of notion mentioned in advice forums, which makes me feel like I'm on a different planet. There's always something that can be worked on to improve. I'm suspicious of those who think otherwise. The trick is knowing when to abandon. By the way, Warren, I think this video is one of your best. Thank you, 5 years too late!
As always, great information! Thank you for all you do for us.
Started regularly watching now and have been looking at so many of the older videos. Love how you teach production Warren!
this is some of the best 25 minutes of living this life. i get a lot more out of the deal when i pick up a guitar and play WITH it - instead of intending to PLAY it. making music is a journey of discovery. along the way spirits reveal themselves to those who step off the beaten path and let the journey carry them. music is a manifestation of infinity. i hope to meet you one day, here or there.
Warren, your vids are always amazing...but this has to be the best one I've seen to date. Even though its said, I don't think its said enough - Thank you for what you do.
Thanks Warren! Always motivational.

Hi Sebastian Piedrahita, thanks ever so much my friend!
eye opening lecture there! Love you man!
Thank you so very much for every piece of advice that you are so kindly giving us, your honesty is really inspiring and your modesty truly makes you a brilliant person as well as a producer, best wishes!
Thanks so much; I needed to hear this!
Inspiring, as usual! As someone said previously, I wish I had this 20 years ago! Thanks, Warren.
Warren, This is beyond the most helpful video I have ever watched in my life. You really the nail on the head and, quite literally, addressed almost every single problem i've had in the last 2 years! THANK YOU! I can't say that enough. your videos are always of tremendous help. I've always had a problem with pushing past the itch of "finishing" something, even if its shite, rather than just moving on to make more and learn more. Seeking out info when I don't need it to just TRY and learn and fail! Sorry if I rambled. Beautiful video, beautiful soul, beautiful advice. Thanks again!
Thanks brother ..... you are very compassionate .... Stay safe ...
Love your attitude man. Honest and without the arrogance I see from a lot of music engineers. Glad there are people like you helping to shape the industry!

Thanks Warren- new subscriber. Your videos rock. This video in particular was very inspiring. It’s great to remind ourselves every now and again why we do this and ask ourselves how we can get better and feel more inspired. Your attitude of ‘giving back’ with these videos is very much appreciated and it is a great lesson for us all. Best to you and I look forward to more videos!
Amazing video Warren! All your words are true! You are really inspiring people with videos like this one (and of course with all of your videos you ever made) because young musicians need videos like this one to feel someone’s support to feel themselves a bit more confident in every step they do into the music industry world! 😀👍
Golden advices here. Thank you so much !
Thank you for this Warren! A great video for someone who is a little daunted by the amount of things to learn when starting to record and produce their own music! 👍🏼
Great....thank you !!
I needed this. Thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you for encouraging us all to keep on creating, and to forge relationships with others who create. Sharing musical experiences with other musicians and people in all facets of music production broadens our thresholds and our musical horizons. Your sharing of your experiences I greatly appreciate!
refreshing pep talk/reality check (again) - thanks, Warren, you rock.
Such an amazing video man, thanks for all the tips!
You were sent to say these things... like one voice speaking to everyone individually, all at once. Magic...
Warren, thank you for your calming and inspiring eloquence as always. You are so many times the voice of reason in these early morning hazes. Blessings, tight hug. LASE
Encouraging and helpful - great vid!
Very inspiring. Thank you!
Love the vids ive watched so far thanks again Mr Huart, I'm 58 now and no longer have to do the day job so ive set up the bedroom studio with a Behringer XENYX 802 USB Mixer with 2 ins and 2 outs, Reaper as my DAW, My old guitar and a mic i cant remember the name of, Cant play or sing that well but let the journey begin! I've always had the urge to produce and only just have the opportunity. Thank you again for giving your time and knowledge to so many people. .
Hi Warren, thank you for all the great stuff you do for us, you really are truly awesome. you want to be careful though especially if you are recording a whole Peruvian sphincter flute section, one spark and boom! gonna end up with a right mess to clean up( definitely no smoking), thanks again, all the best, Darren Ross.
One of those videos that should be pinned at the beginning of every music production playlist here on KZread! Thanks Warren!

Great advice, really appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing this Warren, I think they are all great points and very good advice.
I have to comment and offer up a hearty thank you. The bit about moving on with projects, and not spending weeks or months agonizing over a mix, was like gold. I may have even picked it up from another of your videos, but I took a "churn and burn" strategy with my projects and, yes ,the mixes I pushed out generally sucked in big ways, but my growth has definitely accelerated big time. I can already see it. Even beyond the technical/learning end of it, this strategy kind of opened things up for me on the creative/artistic side too, since each song is a chance to try something new and the odds of landing on something really awesome increase each time. Thank you so much.
