I was told by a school friend about his parents living in HK near Bettys apartment !! they would see him visiting and refer to him as the bit on the side ... they had no idea who he was until after he died and it was big news , the lads father was sationed in hk with the army ..

There was one big thing that i noticed with this movie , is when they released as Return of The Dragon in the United States , there was these at list 3 scenes left out that was in The Way Of The Dragon release , the 2 scenes at the restaurants where he eats the soup and at the end when they were supposed to meet the Boss , and the one scene where He goes back to that woman's apartment where she comes out topless .

@@mormovies Yea maybe so , but they may have felt that it was not needed and maybe also to shorten movie time length , now true fans will want to see every minute , were as a regular movie goer some of the scenes removed not an Issue , as long as most of the action scenes are left in .

@@kidhickey1659 I think it would have caused serious issues with U.S. theater projectionists trying to focus a long blurry sequence. Otherwise, they wouldn't have tampered with it.

Block's book image of "The Legend Of Bruce Lee" had an interesting paragraph. For the mechanics of the nunchaku, he interviewed the biggest martial arts teacher of my home town, Joe Artesi. IIRC, there was a comparison to the physics of the weapon and the human body.

One fact that I picked up when I was a kid was when Bruce is fighting the japanese Karate fighter, as the fighter is struggling to stand back up, Bruce waves his finger telling him to not get up. Later on when he is fighting Colt, Colt mocks him by doing the same gesture. I always thought that this meant Colt was secretly watching Tang fighting, studying his moves.

Great video as usual. I have an issue of Eastern Heroes that talks about the writing on the walls. But they just speculate as the images aren't clear enough. Bruce had written Linda's name on one wall though. Another, they think is maybe Bob Wall leaving an inscription.

Stripey, as usual great vlog packed with great info! Now, here in the U.S. it was known that the reason for the title "Return of the Dragon" had more to do with the appearance of Bruce once again on the big screen in a motion picture shortly after his passing, hence the word "Return" being put in and also the tag line during the commercials here "boy can we use him now", however I am also sure that it was also done in order to capitalize on ETD which in actuality didn't need to be done since by that time off the strength of FOF (aka) "Chinese Connection" Bruce was already a pretty big thing here since we all knew him from the "Green Hornet". Love the videos and I love the inserts, would love it as my t.v. screen saver!!! Stay well Stripey and keep 'em coming 😃🙏

At around the 10 minute mark of Way of the Dragon, when Bruce and Nora were making their way out of the airport, there is a girl sitting down at the waiting area wearing a pink jacket. It looks as though she is picking her nose. She pulls out her finger, looks at it, takes out the gum that she is chewing, and maybe eats the booger (can't really see because someone walked right in front of her in that exact moment).

Hey stripey hope you are well pal, I'm no expert on bruce lee, but i have researched quite alot of material on the legend, Bruce's baby way of the dragon aka Return of the Dragon over seas America, is without a doubt a great martial arts movie, with humour and action, nora miao said that, in way of the dragon that's the way bruce was in real life, which makes the movie, that much better, like i previously said, i didn't see the way of the dragon till the early 90s, when my best friend gave me the movie uncut, with The Big Boss, Fist of fury, and enter the dragon, and man when I seen him using double nunchucku omg i couldn't stop rewinding it 😂🤷‍♂️unfortunately the big boss has no saw to the head, even from the Lebanon it wasn't in the movie, but fist of fury was uncut in its full glory and the way of the dragon, also enter the dragon, i already had Enter the dragon rare uncut version big book like case uncut which my father got, sure if my memory serves me, they used to show enter the dragon on tv in the 80s uncut, no abbot scene, or the extra scene in the mirror room, which i never liked, i grew up with the theatrical cut, which i now have in glorious 4k Ultra HD ultimate edition, they also gave the 40th anniversary blu Ray HD enter the dragon, which i missed out on, it crazy to imagine, the way of the dragon, is the only Chinese movie made in Italy, and since then no other martial arts movie has been been made in the spectacular colosseum, another great video stripey, on till next time, you keep well my friend, support always from Ireland ✌️🇮🇪✌️🐉🙏🐲#1940to1973 #BRUCELEE #FOREVERYOUNG #JEETKUNEDO #THELITTLEDRAGON #THEWAYOFTHEDRAGON #RETURNOFTHEDRAGON #MENGLONGGUO #THEFIERCEDRAGONCROSSESTHERIVER #WORKIGTITLEENTERTHEDRAGON #RELEASEDATE30THDECEMBER1972

The one in your still shot looks like " abolish.. " but cant be sure. Ricardo Billi was the location manager for the rome scenes. Malisa Longo's nude scene is actually shot inside Bruce's hotel room at the Flora hotel in Rome. The managementgave me the room number once and I lost it.

@@StripeyR Thank You for responding-really appreciate your taking the time. With the gazillion times I've watched the film-2 things always puzzled me. What was the reason for the "Uncle" to send a letter asking for Tang Lung's return to HK? And after saying goodbye in the cemetery, Tang choosed to walk in the sunset in the end credits-was he walking all the way back to the Airport?...I know it's symbolic and all, in reference to the movie title, but wasn't he a "fish out of water" in Rome?... I just realised the ironic premonition of the cemetery scenes from "Fist..." to "ETD"... Thanks for the indulgences!-subscriber from Manila, Philippines.

Hi Stripey great vid again. Betty Ting Pei was not on the set of Way for a possible role. Filming had already begun and she was just visiting. Steve Kerridge mentions the auditions on the Kung Fu Genius podcast which im sure you've seen. His WOTD book will be good, the info he gets is probably the best out there. Any chance you could do a video about the various Nunchaku Bruce used in the movies?

Great video as usual Stripey! Forever I've tried to learn about Bruce Lee's battle cries on 35mm North American prints of Return Of The Dragon. It's different than Way Of The Dragon which is clearly Bruce. Return Of The Dragon is either someone doing his best imitation or a different version done by Bruce? I believe early VHS and DVD versions of Return are this way. It was not until I got the Hong Kong Legends version of Way Of The Dragon that I knew about this. Would love to get to the bottom of it before I die. :)

As iam aware he recorded 2 different battle cries for way of the dragon 1 for the mandarin/Cantonese dub and 1 for the English dub I don't know why probably because he had more control of this movie. He only did 1 each for fist of fury and enter the dragon. In the big boss he didn't record any because whilst in post production he was in the states filming further episodes of longstreet. His battle cries are later heard in the 1982/83 Cantonese release which were taken from fist of fury way of the dragon and enter the dragon. Hope this helps pal 👍
