10 things about the Lexus CT 200h you didn't know

Hey Guys,
Here is my video on the things you didn't know about the Lexus CT. The Lexus CT 200h was the worlds first luxury hybrid hatchback.
All models in the range are badged CT 200h. This means you get a 1.8-litre petrol engine working in alliance with an electric motor that’s fed by a battery pack under the boot floor. The combined efforts of these power sources are fed to the front wheels via a CVT automatic gearbox. While having two motors may sound good fun the petrol engine can’t even manage 100bhp and it doesn’t feel like the electric motor adds much more. 0-62mph is just over 10 seconds. The biggest issue is the harsh ride. Even in entry-level SE trim, which comes with small wheels, it’s choppy around town. Still, this is preferable to the stiffer suspension set-up of the F Sport version, which is more uncomfortable.
Did you know the Lexus CT 200h is one of the most reliable cars on the UK roads. There was also a pair of trainers designed with the CT F sport.

Cool facts
Actually thinking about one for work as a pre full electric purchase , much much later. Dont fancy getting stuck in a snow storm with full electric , like the idea of fuel to run in such occasions , have been stuck before and I fear a battery might not work there though i know yes we can run out of fuel. Good vid cheers .

Found this one really interesting, the CT is still a strong contender as my new daily next year, waiting to see what updates rhe model gets first, if they continue the model?

my local Lexus dealer in Germany tells my that the actually model of the CT200h is the last one. The UX replace the CT :(

tbh I would have liked the ux, but I had money for a sh CT, I really want a crossover for the roads. once you get a cool car, you start to see all that can happen to the car and try to avoid them all. having a crossover you can care less about the road maintenance
Hi, I have a question. How long, time wise, or far do you have to travel to charge the battery? My commute to work is about 10miles and typically takes around 30minutes, sometimes less depending on traffic, it’s mostly three lane A roads around London, I’m trying to get an idea how much the engine would be running compared to the electric motor. Would this be sufficient time/distance to maintain the battery?

I think so, the alternator is being charged with the movement. I wouldn't worry!

That's funny, I heard the heavy Scottish and still put the video on 1.25 once your ear gets it, it is all the same. Although I have watched a few Scottish films and they have some good sayings that crack me up. Love it, we don't all need to be the same, please stay different. I have a CT200 2012 and am now over 100k. I need to do the spark plugs, the shark fin is leaking, and the ABS for the brakes is whining as well as the battery which was all good a few months ago now won't do EV mode. All at once, is that a key point?

Oh no sorry your shark fin is leaking!! Can you seal it up with a silicone product? Oh no sorry that is all happening at once.
Hey mate, many thanks for the video. Could you please let me know if there is a way for Android Auto or Apple Car play to work on the CT200H - 2020 model? I can't seem to find the option (maybe its not there) ...but there seems to be a Screen Mirror option (disabled?) on the UI. Thanks again

Sadly the CT never got the apple car play system, the new RX and LS got it. I think you might need to install an aftermarket kit to get it.

no clue they made a right hand drive car! im in Texas USA mine is a 2012 amd 248,XXX miles on the original hybrid battery!

I own 2011 ct 200h with 157k+ miles. everything works just fine on mine. first, look for rust if you live in a area where they use salt to melt ice/snow on the road. 2nd, check to make sure the battery is in descent shape (they cost more than regular batt.). I still have my original battery in mine. Also mine start to burn a little oil (maybe 1/3 rd quart per month but it is a daily commuter). so look for that. but as long as its not leaking oil and other fluids, slight burn of oil at high mileage is common and not a huge deal. but other than that, It has been a great car for me and i believe it still got many years/miles to go. good luck! edit: btw, it still averages over 40mi+ per gallon ;)

One thing you didn't know about the ct200. Even though it's the coolest hatchback ever created, if you leave your windows open when it's raining(even for a few seconds) the door panel will shrink because of the cheap material they use.

Big like from me regarding the clips you are making. I am interested in Toyota/Lexus hybrid cars. Problem is that i can't watch you clips without subtitle :( and i usually watch all english movies without subtitle. In a previous clips(from my point of view ) someone asked you what language is this , i suspect he had the same issue understanding you. Tray do some improvement in this department to have a better success on youtube.
