I would title such an amalgamation of the 2 games "MGS: Sins of the Father" both as a neat callback to MGS5 and also as a subtle foreshadowing for all the terrible things which would befall the Metal Gear timeline due to Big Boss's failed coup against Zero and his Patriots.

They should remake Metal Gear 1 and 2 (MSX) in modern visuals.

Konami can technically make entirely new Metal Gears solely from the first two games by combining them both and fleshing out the story whilst also making the connections to the canon such as Zanzibar-land being Tselinoyarsk, they can also bring back David Hayter and you pretty much have an original game for newer generations of players who never played or probably heard of those games.

100% great way to go. theres so many people who arent familiar with MG1 & MG2 as they first came in at MGS. it also gives Konami opportunity to be pretty creative with those two without angering fans with new stuff, as they would essentially be new games. then remake MGS in the same way they are doing with snake eater afterwards... Then perhaps sons of liberty or even 4. If they are not going to make some sort of port of the ps3 version of 4. then remake it in this way instead.

Saying Kojima wasn't involved with Metal Gear Rising is not entirely true. He literally started making the game (originally set inbetween MGS2 and 4) but gave it away to Platinum to make MGS5. He was still a supervisor on the game for quite a bit after aswell.

Correct. He had a difficult time making it in the Fox Engine.

If they dont remake metal gear and metal gear 2 solid snake ill be pretty disappointed regardless whatever else they do. Just like we got to fight liquid ontop of rex if they can make a modern version of Frank protecting Naomi and Snake fighting Frank in the minefiled would be peak gaming.

Don't expect much from Konami. I'll be happy with getting MGS 4 on all platforms and 60 fps.

A game about a hypocritical child-killer who murders a boy's parents in front of him and then indoctrinates said boy and a hundred other children into becoming his zealous loyal brainwashed minions to use in a megalomaniacal plan to "free the world" through murder, corruption, hypocrisy and genocide...? It'll definetly sell like hotcakes (sarcasm).

a MGS game as The Boss would be a lot better than the remake given MGS3 Delta sells well. There were a ton of backstories about the cobra unit that I wanted to know more about, like how boss recruited them. Did she have to defeat them each in order to get them to join? How did Boss became the Boss? Tons of interesting things I like to see that aren't depicted on screen. It would be nice if Konami made a game with her as a lead playable character.

As stated in MGS3 all of the Cobras within the Cobra Unit were supersoldiers _created_ by the US and USSR Philosophers when the organization was still ran by its original founders to both win WW2 and claim the entire Philosopher's Legacy for either side after it got "lost" during its changing of hands among Philosopher agents. The Joy/Boss, The Pain, The Fear, The Sorrow, The End and The Fury all knew eachother years prior after been handpicked from a younger age to become loyal enforcers of the Philsophers.

I don’t think The Boss’s backstory is important tbh as enough is explained in MGS3 - but the idea of an MGS game set during WW2 could be dope, and who better to play as than her.

If someday they do a MGS1 remake, it should be called Metal Gear Solid Alpha

As mentioned by some it's still possible they'll consider making a prequel game revolving around side characters in the series such as the Boss and Grey Fox who's storylines could be fleshed out a bit more as Kojima originally intended. Since i can't imagine Konami filling Kojima's shoes by making a brand new Metal Gear from scratch creating a prequel game which only fills in some gaps i feel is the most plausible direction for them to continue the franchise.

I'd actually love to see a game focusing on Raiden and what happened to him between the ending of MGS2 and when he appears in MGS4. I'm pretty sure it's been explained in some way but would love to see whatever hell Raiden went through to become the cold cyborg he is in MGS4

It's a completed story. Stop trying to push narratives it doesn't need. If you wanna remake them, fine. But don't fuck with the story. It's fine and it's done.

I agree, although it would be cool to see a non canon entry like a sequel or prequel to Metal Gear Rising.

The biggest difference between Rising and Solid is the gameplay. Other than that, the Story, Setting and Characters feel distinctly "Metal Gear". Turning Rising to a series would not be as big of a departure from Solid as many believe it is. -Plus, a sequel could help double down on Stealth elements while further enhancing the High-Speed Combat from the previous game.

You are surely having a laugh about MG Rising. While it has retrospectively been regarded as better than first received, the game was critically panned at the time.

May be remake will come according to chronological order of stories

Would be interesting to see how they’d tackle remakes of Peace Walker and MG1/2, the former is a bit primitive in design due to being designed for a portable console and the latter is an obvious case. Gets me wondering as well whether they’d skip MGSV or consider remaking it with Hayter’s VO - would be cool.

Remaking 3 seems like their way of putting the games in chronological order for the new audience since their timeline is confusing af fore some.

There is no future. We will probably get remakes of MGS4 and MGR, and continue to get crap like Survive because Konami.

Now all we need from you people is a video about the future of Castlevania. Imagine a remake on Symphony of the Night? It would be more darker with Unreal Engine cutscenes.

Without having the core team (Kojima included) who were there from 1998-2012, any future Metal Gear game won't be the same

Just Give us a Metal Gear Remake with the Fox Engine already.

Id be up for MGR2 set in Liberia. Having Raiden return to his childhood home would be a full circle moment. There was a cut game with the Boss in WW2 that would've been cool.

What about full 3D remakes of Metal Gear and Metal Gear: Solid Snake? Those would be great stories to tell a new audience.

Two great editions would be 1. Operation intrude where young solid snake fights venom snake with gray fox being a major part like snake and Raiden in mgs2. Or 2. THE COBRA UNIT with sorrow and boss about the start and rise to glory before their fall

Metal Gear 1 and 2 from MSX are the ones I’d be most excited to see remade with proper cutscenes and dialogue. Bundle them and call it Metal Gear Solid Zero for hints to Major Zero’s secret involvement. Rising 2 would be a good one to make because Rising 1 was the most successful one without Kojima.

First of all, I doubt MGS 5 will be part of Master Collection Vol. 2. There are two MGS 5s, it would make more sense to save them for a Vol. 3 alongside Rising [assuming Platinum is on board]. Vol. 2 is more likely to have Portable Ops alongside MGS 4 and Peace Walker. And second, perhaps the plan is to remake the pre-Rising series entries in chronological order, in which case Portable Ops, Peace Walker, and Metal Gear MSX would be next. MGS 1 has two remakes and can wait.

A mgs rising sequel would be sick, especially if it had the ability for you to cut anything the way you want like what was shown in the original gameplay preview for mgs rising. Being able to leg sweep a enemy and dice him up before he even hits the ground would be so sick.

honestly as much as i'd like an Metal gear SOLID 1 and or 2 remake, what i want to experience in new gen HD REMAKE is Metal Gear 1 and 2, ya know the original games for the MSX

If we were to get Rising Revengeance 2 I would like George to be the protagonist with Raiden as his mentor like how Miller was to Solid Snake before MGS1. I know this is kind of a hot take but I would love to see where this goes. Maybe even having Sunny as the "Mei Ling" of this game and love interest of George. Of course it would take place years after Rising Revengeance.

There was plans years ago to build up back stories of boss and solid snake stories but kojima parted ways in 2015

The bare minimum should be a mgs1 remake and combining mg&mg2 in ue5 should be the bare minimum, not counting a second rising game abt Raiden between mgs2 and mgs4, and a game abt cobra unit in WW2 with the boss

MGO (Metal Gear Online) looks safe option to do they don't have to mess with story too much just rely on how good mechanics is how good weapons are and how fun game modes are but if they are gonna do new story i have to leap of faith in them to tell a good story i know it not same those did God of War Rragnarok and 2018 they work on og God of War games aa well we got to hope it be same for Metal Gear Solid

I have been wanting a new trilogy. MG 1 & 2 remake and The Boss' game. Her lore is fukken deep and has the potential for a captivating story. MG 1 and 2 remake fills the void between the Phantom Pain and Solid. If Delta is change, then we can imagine that the next games to be remade after Snake Eater are PoOps (lol) and Peace Walker. Rising is the future after the Solid Series. I hope they can continue with that. But knowing Konami, they have already cheapened out of the Master Collection. So I don't have high hopes.

Metal Gear Peace Walker takes place between 2 and 4. They can remake that since that game contains a lot of dialogue and no cutscenes.

Hopefully Konami doesn't fuck up Delta. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, the trailers look promising! Otherwise, I don't really want another MGS without Kojima. Like sure, he didn't make the games alone, but he's the video game equivalent of an auteur. I'm okay with MGS being a done deal, but yeah, if things had been different, I would have loved a complete remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2 to flesh out Venom Snake and bring nuances to Big Boss' story. A prequel with the Boss would've been amazing too, she's such a badass, and I'm always a slut for the WWII setting. I'm not interested at all in Rising though, but it is well loved, so I guess Konami could make sequels with Raiden without ruffling too many feathers. I was a fan of Death Stranding before I became a fan of Metal Gear, and I was excited for Kojima's version of Silent HIll, so it's fair to say I'm fully n board with the guy's future projects. I'm excited to see what he'll do with Overdose and Physint!

Wow!! Kojima has returned to Konami after Konami and Kojima parted ways. Now that Konami and Kojima have made and patched things up I'm hoping that a new sequel future game to Metal Gear Rising:Revengeance called Metal Gear Rising 2 one day in the future.

I could see them doing three Delta and then after that if 3 does well enough, maybe going back and doing the first solid game in Unreal Engine 5 like fans have asked and then sons of liberty to make the trilogy then maybe Peacewalker make a whole solid delta series some games don’t need to be remade like five because it already looks good some of the old games and I don’t like metal gear one and two I like the mean like the solid series. That’s just my take. MGS 4 not entirely sure if they would remake that unreal Engine 5.

Don’t care what anyone says. Without Hideo Metal gear is finished. I don’t think they would ever make a six and if they did, it would probably be junk. I would want a complete finished MGS V from hideo.

There is a metal gear remake already it’s Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

When it comes to the MGS series: it ended. What story is there left to tell? MGS4 wraps up Solid Snake's story, and MGS5 is a heavily flawed and unfinished game that gives you a vague idea of what led up to Metal Gear 1. Let the series rest in peace - any addition to Solid's or Big Boss' stories is just a kind of... bloatware. For lack of a better term. Time for people to come up with new ideas unrelated to Metal Gear or Metal Gear Solid. Konami certainly can't do Kojima's IP justice without his input.

There are a few concept ideas which Konami might consider to create a brand new title from scratch such as some plotpoints surrounding side characters like The Boss back in WW2 when she was a loyal Philosophers's agent only to become alienated by their kidnapping of her son kickstarting her hatred for them and the desire to free the world from any form of control or subjugation by a privileged group of people focused on their benefit rather than the common good. Given the many gaps surrounding key characters like The Boss, Grey Fox, Solidus, Naomi, Sniper Wolf, Decoy Octopus, etc. i would not see them past an attempt to milk the franchise by expanding upon the most ambiguous characters in the series.

i hope they make mgs6. i don't care if kojima isn't involved.

To me if writer and director tell a good story and good game to play that good enough for me Kojima was about to work on Silent Hill game and people was buzzing about him doing a Silent Hill game but maybe there isn't well known game director and game writers that make fans go "if that director and writer is working on Metal Gear game I'm in"

But MGS5 just kinda ruined the series for me and of course metal gear survive was a total joke. Sorry but DS doesn't compare to MG. MGV is just a better game than DS even though it's not finished. Konami vision of MG is doa, if it's not by Kojima they would do well to just leave it alone. Anything they do to it will just sully it, and those of us that's been gaming since the inception of the first Metal Gear knows that. It's going to be an unfinished and perfectly unfinishable masterpiece of a time already past over. Imo.
