I like videos like these. In the age of 100 dollar pry bars and utility blades it's apparently easyo to forget that some people don't have the money to invest a 100 bucks or more per item, yet still deserve to belong in the community. Lots of genuinely great cheap stuff out there in every supermarket that are easy to judge without actually trying them out.

Feels like as time has gone on the concept of edc went from carrying practical items to glorified pocket jewelry for Instagram filters cause sorry but not sorry if you bought an expensive titanium "utility knife" like a Rexford rut and try to justify it "not being a waste of money or overpriced" your smoking something really good. At this point its becoming rare to find a content creator who doesn't have something custom that's out of reach now.

@@Horde334 Aside plain pocket trash, pry bars are my favourite lol. I love the gerber chonk which is like 25 bucks or something, but all the time I see people paying 200 bucks for objectively worse, straight titanium bars from LNW and the likes. I myself have overpaid for many things considering diminishing returns, there's nothing wrong with that imo as long as you acknowledge the curve.

@@leksasdf Used to have the gerber prybrid until broke on me (the retaining switch broke and blade came loose from the track) bummer but the warranty is there, plus honestly it feels like the people who buy into the whole titanium prybar thing really bought it as a piece of pocket jewelry or for their edc instagram page with too many filters.

I think a lot of it is the same thing people are doing with phones, they turn it less into a tool and more into a statement piece, and that's fine but yeah it's nice to see people going and finding cheap-ish tools that can fill out an EDC for people who aren't making a big deal about every tiny ounce at all times

Superglue hack: I have found once opened, insure there is no glue in the nozzle by VERY lightly squeeze the side to "draw" the glue back into the vial. Then wipe the tip and store upright in a container (I use old Rx bottles) and stick them in the fridge. Mainly the bottle helps to keep it upright. The cold keeps the glue good forever!!! Hope it helps. Appreciate what you do and the community here.

Could you do this "items under $10" from Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, Ace Hardware, and whatever other store you can think of? Then at the end of it compare similar items to one another and decide which one is best from which store. Could be a good way to gage the quality of cheap items from large stores.

Pepper spray, I am, going into detail. Ok after nearly a decade of club security I have been exposed to lots of pepper deterrents and used some effectively. Sabre is effective as is FOX LABS and although many brands claim to be better somehow they usually are not. Understanding the proper use of a chemical deterrent is important. I'll share a few experiences. First, anything you carry can be used against you, keep your tool hidden and never brandish until its time to defiantly use it. The more people know your tools the more apt they will plan to beat you to them or defeat them. There are different products for different uses, Spray, Gel & Foam. Spray takes the most planning to avoid being caught in that mess when you use it BUT less aim is important and you can create no go zones that give you time to escape. ALWAYS understand you must be UPWIND to deploy a Spray or it's just going to end up in your face too. Foams and Gels require aim but can be used indoors and around pets with less chance of getting it everywhere also less chance of overspray getting to you by accident. In 'a real no rule of law' if ever I would carry a couple 30 plus oz bear spray foggers to save ammo and assure escape advantages. Don't use Bear spray on people as many cities & states frown on that tactic. Nearly all products have dye that is visible or at least UV so your target gets tagged for later identification. Wind, standing at entrances and in hallways can work for you and against you as buildings and under structures create air currents that may carry the deterrent towards you or further away I find your attackers will want to talk and you can reposition upwind as they tell you how tough they are (moments before they start crying like babies) . Air conditioned rooms tend to have positive pressure and you wil want to test this under different conditions so you can take advantage in the future. I have used talc in the air to gauge doorway air currents. Its best to either use a gel or foam in doorways to be sure. Sprays are super to create no-go barriers when running or fogging small rooms, under a bridge or down a stairwell. Hopefully this inspired some thought! I will add some products next "not affiliate links" you can strip out and reuse perhaps. SABRE Eye Wash Adapter, a.co/d/fsZpBRS 3 Pack Sudecon Pepper Spray Decontamination Wipes, a.co/d/c6Hq0Tq Baby wipes help but not nearly as fast as Sudecon that helps in 7-10min rather than much longer. Remember this stuff sticks like axel grease. Seeing you read it all here's the fun segment. Clear Out, Fox and a few other make pepper grenades that you press to lock on then deploy often cheapest directly from the companies web page. Essentially these are like bug foggers and unless your very careful you will get some on you. See this fun video featuring a car full of tough guys enjoying this concept. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oHVnksOij5W_d7g.html Take care!

@@maxlvledc Protip, those guys in the car destroyed it. Trust me that car got sold after as you can't really get that stuff out! I know if you get some around a doorway unless you degrease the heck out of those surfaces you will get recontaminated over and over when you touch a area then touch eye, nose etc later for a year or more. Never use "spray" in your home but gels or foams can be cleaned easier with a UV light to find hot spots. Tough guys will threaten you that that stuff wont work on them but IT ALWAYS DOES 110% percent of the time...

CSM didn't want to let me get it for that price ($80-$100 difference). So I asked to speak to an assistant manager and she said they are in a meeting. I told her I could wait. Apparently, someone said something to them during their meeting because after waiting about 2 hours the cashier that had the multitool at her register called me over to tell me my waiting payed off, the Manager said to go ahead and sell it to me for that price.

Great video. I'm autistic and get so distracted in the big stores I miss a lot. Our store is smaller than most so I have to get a lot on the website. I love my little flashlight. I switched the clip around so I could clip it to my ball cap bill. I am going to get the bendable neck rig with two lights. I live outside and always need hands-free lighting in my tent or outside. I love my Ozark Trail folder that looks like the Kizer Comerant? I used automotive sandpaper to put a mirror edge on it. One of my most carried knives. It has beige plastic scales with a texture. I will die them at some point. I use the Sharpie pens & Micron knock-offs. I would like to see you do a Tractor Supply, Harbor Freight or Lowes video of items under $10 or any price you choose. 🚜

Lol my dad has the old version of that hammer. Probably similar to the one you had as a kid, he's had it for as long as I can remember. It has a brass handle

Oh, I picked up one of those "mystical" crossbar Ozark knives just the other day at my local Walmart. There it was, buried behind their other Ozark knives (it was the only one). If you're interested, I'll send it to you! But I have already taken it out of the package and cleaned it up, so it operates more smoothly.

Another alternative to the pliers is if you go to home Depot you can get some Stanley pliers for around 3 dollars each. Obviously not Walmart but good alternative

The double blade chisel is great but do yourself a favor and put electric tape on the part closes to handle, until you get used to it you will tend to forget and get a ouchie. 🦉

We have a Fastenal vending machine at my workplace that has those Coast AAA flashlights in it. We get them for free as workers, so I have a huge amount of experience carrying them. They fit in your teeth quite nicely and when you gotta do a quick tinker in the dark they do the trick.

If you would like to check out that Ozark Trail knife with what I call the "Ackziz Lock" talk to me. I have many of them brand new in box (my local Walmart had a bunch of em left after Christmas) and I'd be happy to ship you one. Also, that notebook usually runs 88¢ each. I have like 30 of em in my cabinet

All the pens and you missed a good one from my experience. The original Papermate Profile pen, not the newer gel comfort glide whatever it's called but the older style in 1.4mm and with a all black plastic clip. I've never had one run out of ink on me because people would take them all the time. Would write on any paper whether it's thin tissue or waxy heat sensitive receipt paper with no issue and the tip seemed durable enough to withstand some dirt and grime and keep writing. During back to school season walmart sells them in 20 packs for under $10 or at least used to, who knows anymore with supply and inflation.
