Hi Maria, loved the vlog I don’t take perfume as such on holiday only body mist because of mosquitoes. My daughter has just come back from Spain and they were bitten even the resort they were on spray everyday. My go to for holiday essential is anti histamine tablets.❤️❤️

Take vitamin b1. Was told by a holland n Barrett lady once that b1 stops mozzy bites. I used to get bitten loads but not anymore. Just 1 a day is all I take. Works for me.

Meant to add in my previous comment….my new very favourite holiday must take (how did I forget) is my neck cooler. Great on the plane and every minute of the day! Bought the first one from Amazon but have also got one from Temu at a far cheaper price which I feel is so much better. Maria…you need one!xx Liz

I put my sunglasses in a hard case, that way they don't break if I sit on them. I wear reg glasses and it keeps them safe as well when I switch them out.

I have lived in a summer holiday destination for 32 years (Albufeira, Portugal) and it is very easy to buy sun toiletries abroad in say Lidl or Aldi who have branches everywhere …including Greece. Just thinking of the weight in your airline bag!

Thanks for sharing! The supermarkets in the resort are quite expensive for toiletries. I believe they do have an Aldi or Lidl but they are quite away out. It would be nice if soon we could carry normal size toiletries in hand luggage, yet again they would way the case down!

It sounds like you will be in Greece whilst we are in Crete. So looking forward to it! I seem to have a similar essential list. We have been taking microfibres towels for quite a few years now….you will be so pleased you have bought yours. They are fab! Tony and I are creatures of comfort and also take inflatable sunbed mattresses. Got those from Amazon too. Very, very light and has built in pump. They fold up really quite small. I was dubious at first calculating how many outfits I would have to leave behind to accommodate the mattress but it is no problem and we are usually away two or three weeks. Wouldn’t be without my mattress! Always take perfume but decant into those mini atomisers you can easily get. My perfume comes in an immensely heavy glass bottle (why I do not know). You and I have the same cover ups…..I think they are just right and take up next to no room and are light weight in the case. Found a super leopard print one this year but I am thinking it will go so well with white trousers and cami. Enjoy your trip to Devon.xx Liz

Hi Maria Talking about clothing . I have to have mine to fit in length as I am only 5ft three. In all sincerity I don’t mind the long line top as it covers a multitude of sins !!! The sun does me no favours. Also love your sunglasses. That perfume is lovely from M& S. Perfume prices now have gone beyond proportion. I use shampoo crème now as I got a very sensitive scalp and this helps me a lot. Since two years ago had a very dry scalp so use a spray on conditioner as that stops tge hair from drying out further. When I was a teenager as I used to was my hair so often as it was greasy. That beach bag is ideal for the pool etc. Have a. Ice week All the best. Rhian xx

There's nothing quite like the anticipation and excitement you feel in the lead up to a holiday when you're still working. Once retired I've found it just isn't the same any more. OK it's a change of scene but it's not like you're looking forward to spending a couple of weeks just relaxing and spending time with your partner because you already do that all the time anyway! Never satisfied us humans are we? I find the microfibre towels useful for any situation where drying them may be a problem but my husband avoids them like the plague (doesn't like how they 'feel'!!)
