Don't do the bottle in the toilet, If the bottle floats up under the refill line during a flush and the water level when rising will knock the little clip off of the tube sending a jet of water across the lid and out onto your floor. Also don't do the pill bottles as most thieves look for pills before they look for money. If you don't mind a little work a very easy idea is buy a quad plastic outlet box and switch cover from lowes and elongate a switch box near a door, usually back door or adjacent wall. Nice 3 or 4 inch by 10 inch box 3 inches deep and cost less than 5 bucks with a cover and since its fake no wires at all inside it.

I liked all but one hiding place. I don’t recommend EVER hiding valuables under a drawer! When thieves burglarize a home, they often times remove every drawer and dump the contents onto the floor. (It happened to us so I know first hand.) They would find anything hidden under a drawer in a heartbeat!!

I used the wall plate method 45 years ago in my bedroom. They sell little secret boxes specifically for attaching to the back of a wall plate. My mom used it for years after I left home. Doc Ink - I like your idea on the door trim. How about this idea: Make a hole in the top of an interior door that is big enough to hold the container you plan to stash your stuff in. run fishing line around the container. Drop container in door + secure your fishing line to top of door with gorilla tape or magnets. Another idea is to pull off the cover of your house speakers and put your stash in there. thats a great idea if you have hollow core doors. I had an old house in NJ many years ago, the room on the 3rd floor had to areas of the floor that could be pried up, easily of you knew how, to reveal secret compartments, one was about 4foot long and 3boards or 10" wide, the other was a single board about a foot long

a ZipDrive IS A thing prior to flash or thumb drives. (not using the term correctly in this video as you noticed) It is (was) a heavy-duty floppy disc of sorts. The era between floppy disc & CD, large capacity storage was rare. ZipDrive predated CD by 2 minutes in the 90's. It was a proprietary system.

I've seen floor vents but not ones so big on Walls (I have seen wall vents)

Until the day you forget where you hid them. That’s why I stuck a list on the wall next to my bed of all my secret hiding places.

I love the ideas. I will add one additional idea. My children live out of state. I can send them a drive with all the hiding places listed in case something happens to me. No need for a safe deposit box

A hollowed out book still works..especially if u have a goodly lot of them..if hiding light items, put in an envelope and use tape or pushpins to attach to the BACK of dressers or the back of frames pictures..books, and the other things I said take too long too find for most crooks, especially the book..just takes awhile to hollow it out...kept my escape $ from my ex this way because the dumbass NEVER READ ANYTHING but the Bill's or pizza door hangers! 25 years I've been free!
