Will these work if your trying to drown out noise from other rooms to be silent in your bedroom? I go to bed early and my husband stays up all hours of the night waking me up with the tv and computer watching his youtube music videos. I cant get a good nights sleep. I was wondering if these squares would work by utting them on the walls of the bedroom to drown out the sound.

Great idea and vid. I would add a pair of chains, one to either side with hooks. Placing an eyelet on the ladder sides and on the wall to prevent the ladder from moving while climbing.

instead of the hook, I think a sliding latch would be more effective and easier to use to lock the ramp in place and avoid it swinging open. But I see why you used those for the sake of budget.

The coaster with holes, defeats its purpose, condensation will drip down to the furniture you are trying to protect.

On the top surface where the tires finally rest, I wonder if it's possible to add a bit of a slight gouged pit for the tire. Not too deep, just enough to keep the tires in place but also be able to pull out when the job is done. 🤔

Great idea!👍. I was just curious, if i make similar or exactly as you did, what would be a good sealant or wood preservative? I have Thompson wood water sealer, in case water comes in contact or moisture in air, to keep from warping or damage?

Fire wood is also great to work with on the lathe. I’ve made pens, sculptures mallets and bowls out of firewood. What even better is it’s pretty cheap too.

I’d use a toggle latch instead of hook and eye and I’d also put them on both side and install a carry handle. That would add another 20 bucks but it would stop pinch points and when married together more predictable. I may do this. I’ve got a truck an suv and a bmw. The bmw needs this.

I made mine with 2x12’s; safer in my opinion. I agree the edges don’t need to be angled since the car can easily climb them; however, for that same reason 2x stock is not adequate for a stop block (IMHO). I opted for 4x4’s, bolted from the underside of the top board and then screwed that board to the one beneath it. 15 inch deep wasn’t enough with a 4x4 in play, so I increased the 15 inch dimension to 24.
