The Singer from Mystic Rhythms has the closest similarity to Geddy's voice I have heard so far. Amazing. Boy, there are a lot of talented bands out there!

Saw the Rush tribute project last year before the pandemic, it was great! Played for 3 1/2 hours, and they really nailed the sounds!

I love all, the band trio from Australia at 4:30 have a great singer... Very good bands compilation.

There will never be another band like Rush. These guys were masters of their craft

Animation was from Chicago. Chester was amazing on guitar. Jay on vocals/Bass. Dan on drums. Really miss seeing these guys play.

Blown away by the amount of amazing "quality" Rush trubute bands are out there! Rush raised the bar and they Nailed It.

They were all really good i reckon and i love that there's lots of Rush tribute bands out there.

La Villa strangiato are great and so much fun on stage!

Awesome deep, dark, white, magic !!!

The best of all these tribute bands is that we get to see live some of the good old songs that Rush left playing decades ago!

I know this is a little time since this video was put out but it's nice to see 2 of my favorite Rush tribute bands, Thunderhead The Rush Experience from my area St. Louis, seen them numerous times and The Rush Tribute Project that I seen for the 1st time last year and have tickets to see them again. They're both great bands!!

The Spirit of Rush from Atlanta's singer Vicki has a pretty authentic Geddy voice.

Also, in my neck of the woods there is "Limelight" and the "Rush Project-NY", both out of the NYC area.

All were pretty good. It's going to be next to impossible to find another trio as precise as they are

I've seen La Villa Strangiato a few times at Rush Eucon held in the UK, fantastic band. There are several Rush tribute bands in the UK, none featured here unfortunately however the very best tribute band I've seen are the UK 2112, absolutely spot on (sadly no longer together).

THUNDERHEAD IS THE CLOSEST THING YOULL EVER GET TO RUSH

The singer for Mystic Rhythm is exceptional, and he doesn't seem to strain at all to hit the high notes, but his voice is too refined. Lacks the rough edge of Geddy Lee, and his vibrato is too smooth. Fantastic music. Leave it to Australia, the land of Bon Scott, to produce a singer that has the closest singing voice to early Geddy Lee.

My criteria for this video was that the bands must perform live as tribute bands with at least one set of Rush songs, and the singer must resonate with genuine 'Geddy Lee-ness' at the very least in the clips that made the cut. I've noticed there are fewer good Geddy-like singers than there are Rush cover bands. If there are any I missed, do leave a link or info in the comment section, and I'll do another compilation! Enjoy!

New World…sings like Geddy, played like Neil!

Just goes to show there is nothing like the real Rush.

A lot of Rush tribute acts fall short because they can't get the voice. Lots of really good likenesses here though. Nice collection.

exactly. It's so key. If I formed a rush cover band, the instrumentalist are easy to find, relatively speaking. Vocalists are another story.

I can't believe you didn't include the best tribute band: Lotus Land band.

Rush tribute project I believe is the closest voice to Geddy I've seen and I've heard quite a few on you tube plus they stay true to the music

Lotus Land and YYNOT are by far the best. YYNOT also have 3 albums of their own

You can definitely tell which drummers take the time to tune their drums. Lesson for those gigging drummers... ALWAYS tune your drums.

Why I asked my question for the quiz, is any tribute band, specializing in duplicating Rush Hemispheres Album, are tackling the most difficult Rush Material, and that’s verified by rush themselves!!!

I forgot, it’s quiz time for anyone who wants to play. Seeing all these tribute bands made me think of something that Geddy Lee said in an interview,and of course the rest of the band agreed with him🎸🎸 Question. what was Rush’s most difficult album to make??? It wiped them out so bad that that was the last album of it’s kind from Rush, and then they took a different approach!!!

@@PHLCoffeeSnob Rocky Kuner of YYNOT was in the zone when she performed No One at the Bridge at the Sherman Theatre, East Stroudsburg, PA in March 2019. Look it up on KZread. The best concert that I was at for all of 2019 and that included some stiff competition.

@@Finatic13 YYNOT, Extremely high quality playing of original material. Sure, they play Rush songs. Two original material CD’s (so far) that deserve 5 stars hands down. I am somewhat surprised that they have not blown up yet but it could be due to Covid for now. I throughly enjoy the songs, the musicianship, the attitude, the commitment to high quality... and so on. Best concert I attended in 2019, hand downs and that was up against some rather notable other groups!

they're great. Nice to see decent lights on stage too for atmosphere.

ALL Rush tribute bands suffer from one deficiency.... vocals don't even come close. Lots of people used to knock Geddy's voice. Just let those people hear when others try to sing Geddy and they'd change their opinion about his voice.

It's really hard to pull off Geddy Lee's voice none of these dudes come close . I am not saying they have no talent, it's just that hard to do a tribute band and sounds just like the actual singers
